Connections reach for blinkers following an underwhelming effort from TREVENAa fortnight ago and she could easily bounce back returned to this trip in a maiden lacking depth. Eversosaucy is feared most, though market support for Hollow Moon would look interesting.
JANUARY JETS‘ placed efforts for Jessica Harrington during the winter read very well in the context of this race and having joined another successful yard, fitness shouldn’t be an issue following 7 months off. Master Artist is expected to give it another good go, while Narynkol deserves a mention give his Flat ability.
NERO ROCK had clearly derived plenty from his reappearance when opening his account in a Sligo maiden 4 weeks ago and, with the drop back in trip expected to hold no fears, he is fancied to continue the good work. Uncle Henry and Rebel Gold are others to consider.
In a race bigger on quantity than quality, STILL ALIVE may well be the answer. His latest effort at Tramore was pretty poor, admittedly, but he is more than capable off this sort of mark when on-song. Zinat has been acquitting herself well of late and should again be on the premises, while Marino Marvel, Ashton Court and Here For The Craic (in that order of preference) are also shortlisted.
Conditions were perhaps too testing for THE RUBINATOR at Tipperary and he is well worth another chance. Indeed, he shaped fairly well on his reappearance at Galway and probably would’ve won off this mark at Listowel last September but for exiting at the final flight. Stablemate Western Sea merits respect but Knock On Steel, successful in this sphere at Cork on penultimate start, is feared most.
Veteran FRUITS OF GLORYcame clear of the rest when runner-up at Sligo 15 days ago and still appears fairly treated following a 2-lb rise, so he boasts leading claims. Ran Rite also makes appeal if he can reproduce the form he showed over fences last time and the consistent Ocean Glandore can’t be discounted.
COTTIEwas only denied by an excellent prospect when runner-up at Galway on debut, so she’s worth a chance to go one better in a race that lacks anything of the same quality with the possible exceptions of newcomer Bacchus Lescribaa and winning pointer Visionarian, who looks the best alternatives to the selection.
