It’s possible to make a case for several of these but the most solid ones include AUTHORIZO, Percy Street and Beach Break. Preference is for the former, who has made steady progress since joining this yard and could still have plenty more to offer.

His Dream will be suited by the return to further but GRAY DAY showed that all is not lost with a close third at Uttoxeter last month and he is very realistically placed in this company. Most of the remainder have something to prove but the selection’s stablemate The Cattlejobber is worth a second look now returned to hurdles.

The consistent Scartare and Hurricane Vic are finding it very difficult to get their heads in front and it might be better to look elsewhere. Joly Maker would seriously enter calculations if there is market support but the vote goes to ARMATTIEKAN in the hope that new blinkers can unlock a bit of progress.
15:05 Grand Coureur (NAP)
Vocaliser would be high up the shortlist if there is market support for him but, without that evidence, preference is for GRAND COUREUR (nap). He has produced two solid efforts this summer and won’t mind what the weather does. Do You Know What is also respected, along with Captain Speaking.
15:35 Cool Country
The form of his recent chase second looks quite strong and it would be no surprise to see COOL COUNTRY go one better in this company. Iconic Hero will be a big threat if reproducing last week’s performance, while C&D winners Tim Rocco and Centreofexcellence also deserve respect.
16:05 Wellntyne
Le Boulevardier should be able to find a race of this nature before too long but it would be no surprise to see the Warren Greatrex-trained newcomer WELLNTYNE make a successful debut. Mini Crest is best of the rest.
