Ruby Walsh joined PPTV to dish out his two best bets west of the Irish Sea on Friday. The legend turned his steely gaze towards Killarney and Kilbeggan for a couple of crackers this afternoon.
You can watch Ruby’s preview below or read on to see his tips for Friday in summary.
Mt Leinster will be ridden by Patrick Mullins in the qualified rider’s race over 2m 1f at 16:45. He won well in Galway over 1m 4f and stepping up in trip shouldn’t be a problem to him.
Grand Master Flash has a rating of 89 while Humaniste races off 81. Charles Byrnes’ Wonderleish ran no sort of race in the Galway Hurdle after making a mistake at the first but is a very good horse on his day.
Mt Leinsterran really well in the Galway Hurdle after winning 72 hours before at Ballybrit, so fingers crossed he can keep that up in Killarney and collect.
Hybery won a maiden hurdle at Wexford while N’golo got the job done at Galway in a 2m maiden hurdle, despite looking to want to run out at one stage. N’golo wouldn’t want too much more rain as he’s by Gallileo.
Whirling Dervishof Gavin Cromwell’s was a good winner last time at this venue, so I don’t see this as a foregone conclusion for the Mullins’ runners. Whirling Dervish could give them both plenty to do.
