Horse Racing tips: 3 for glee in our Wednesday wager at Gowran Park

Let's get ready to rock.

Two Aidan O’Brien fillies stand out in the 1m 1f Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park on Wednesday, namely Ennistymon and Laburnum, both of whom were last seen in the Irish Oaks. Ennistymon has been dining at the top table all season with a placed effort in both the Ribblesdale Stakes before finishing runner-up to stablemate Love in the Epsom Oaks. She then showed signs that those efforts may have caught up with her when a disappointing eighth in the Irish Oaks.

Laburnum was a course and distance maiden winner on her first start and will be having just her fourth run. The worry about Ennistymon is that her form may have plateaued, while Laburnum ran a really strong race in just her third start to finish fourth to Ger Lyons’ Even So in the Irish Oaks just over three weeks ago,

The drop back in trip to 1m 1f should suit Laburnum also, who looks pacier than her strong-staying stablemate.

Orchid Gardens ran at Dundalk during the winter in some pretty decent maidens. finishing placed behind Crossfirehurricane twice. She’s recently ran in two good fillies handicaps in June after a break over 1m and 7f and steps up to 1m 1f on Wednesday.

Her current handicap mark looks about right and if she runs to that again, she can go close to winning this maiden.

I’m saving the best until last with Willie McCreery’s Fictitious Lady in the second division of the 1m 1f maiden. She was fourth to Laburnum (runs earlier on this card) on debut at Gowran Park before finding Johnny Murtagh’s She’s Our Queen one too good over 10f at Down Royal.

Fictitious Lady sets a pretty good standard and is my nap of the day.
