Horse Racing Tips: 9 fine punts for Stratford on Wednesday

The Racing Post have give us their best bets for racing over the jumps at Stratford today.

Stratford

12:15 Dagueneau

Useful chaser Beau Sancy is good enough over hurdles to win a race like this but he wasn’t in very good form when we last saw him and preference is for DAGUENEAU, who took pretty well to this game last season and has scope to build on his Huntingdon win.

12:45 Seddon

In an abnormally hot novice chase for the time of year the suggestion is SEDDON, who has been absent for 453 days but was a very useful novice hurdler during the 2018-19 season and could be even better over fences. Beat The Judge, Leapaway, Longhouse Sale and Scardura were all very talented hurdlers too.

13:20 Pogo I Am

Her profile is not compelling but POGO I AM reportedly ran green when a beaten favourite on last summer’s hurdle debut and is given another chance to deliver on the promise she showed in bumpers.

Felicidad was also placed in bumpers and is second choice ahead of fair Flat-racer Perfect Grace, who has the services of Brian Hughes for today’s stable debut.

13:50 Stamina Chope

French AQPS bumper winner Gaot had a valid excuse when a beaten favourite on her British/hurdling debut and remains an interesting prospect for Harry Fry but STAMINA CHOPE ran to a fairly useful level when runner-up twice over hurdles in France last year and she can make a winning start for Richard Newland if handling the faster ground.

14:20 Nineohtwooneoh (NAP)

Cases can be made for a few of these in what looks an interesting novices’ handicap but it’s still difficult to oppose NINEOHTWOONEOH (nap), who cruised clear to make a winning chase debut at Southwell a week ago and runs under a penalty here.

Lough Har also made a very promising chase debut and is feared most but Court Royale is well handicapped if his confidence has been restored after a break.

14:50 My Renaissance

Wisecracker is a lot more consistent than most chasers that knock about in this grade and he certainly deserved his win at Hereford in the autumn but his revised mark probably leaves him a shade vulnerable.

Preference is for MY RENAISSANCE, who ended last season with some below-par efforts but has become well handicapped and ought to be well suited by this sharp left-handed track. Elixer would appeal more on slower ground but may also feature.

Stratford

15:20 Red Charmer

Prolific on the Flat a couple of years ago, RED CHARMER should be getting competitive off this low a mark now handicapping over hurdles and today’s drier conditions could see him in a better light. Cotton End has respectable form to her name under Richard Johnson and she’s second choice.

15:50 Captain Bucks

After a number of defeats (often running well) it probably did CAPTAIN BUCK’S the world of good to get his head in front between the flags three months ago and there’s nothing wrong with his mark now back with Paul Nicholls. C&D winner Flying Verse could be the danger on his first run for Tom Symonds, with Monty’s Award also respected.

16:20 Evita Du Mesnil

This is a massive hike in distance for EVITA DU MESNIL but her French pedigree gives plenty of hope that she might stay and she was a three-time winner in French bumpers. Quivvy Lough can prove the form of her handicap debut to be all wrong and she’s feared most.
