13.15 Golden Gates Handicap 1m1f (1.15pm) – Highland Chief
Highland Chief held his nerve to fend off Tritonic in the day’s opener. Pre-race favourite Global Storm could only manage third with HMS President finishing in fourth. We paid out on the top 5 and Grand Rock came home in fifth place.
13.50 Wolferton Stakes 1m1f (1.50pm) – Mountain Angel
Mountain Angel went early and held off the late challenge from favourite Ser Dragonet who was held in second once again. Royal Reality nipped into third place from Prince Eiji who had hit the front but couldn’t hold on. We’re offering your money back as a free bet if your horse came 2nd, 3rd or 4th in this race.
14.25 Jersey Stakes 7f (2.25pm) – Molatham
Molatham pipped Monarch of Egypt to take this one as the second-placed horse came from the back of the field to just fade right at the death. Symbolize claimed third, going off at 40s and Ropey Guest took the last place that Paddy’s paying on the 14.25.
15.00 Chesham Stakes 7f (3pm) – Battleground
Pre-race favourite Battleground dominated for Aidan O’Brien and won comfortably from March Law in second. Seattle Rock started at 80/1 and put on a good show to take third with Golden Flame in fourth.
15.35 Gold Cup 2m3f (3.35pm) – Stradivarius
Stradivarius demolished the field to win by 10 lengths in the Ascot Gold Cup, exploding from fourth to win with ease down the straight. Frankie Dettori paid homage to the legendary stayer at the finish line as Stradivarius made it three wins on the trot in this race. Nayef Road was some way back in second and he still had plenty of distance between himself and the third-placed Cross Counter who came in ahead of Withhold.
16.10 Britannia Handicap 1m (4.10pm) – Khaloosy
Khaloosy battled it out with SP favourite Finest Sound in the final furlongs, eventually easing out the 11/4F by a couple of lengths. Both were clear of the pack which came home in the order of Cherokee Trail, Enemy and Toro Strike. We’re paying six places on this race and are donating all proceeds to Covid 19 charities.
16.40 Sandringham Handicap 1m (4.40pm) – Onassis
Onassis put in a sterling performance under Hayley Turner to come round the outside and win quite comfortably, despite a terrible draw. The much fancied African Dream was nowhere as Waliyak finished second. Dubai Love rounded off the top three with 100/1 shot Tiritomba finishing a very credible 4th.
