Ascot Results: How Day Four of the Festival on Friday unfolded

Did you bag a winner on Friday?

Golden Horde Royal Ascot 2020

Golden Horde claimed glory in the Commonwealth Cup, fending off strong competition from Kimari in an impressive display.

That was the feature race of the day, but there was plenty of other action to enjoy.

Check out the full summary below.

13.15pm The Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes 5f (1.15pm) – Art Power

Art Power lived up to the hype with a very impressive display in the opener. Always in command he powered away from the field to win by around 4 lengths in this 5f race. Frank Hickey’s each-way shout Keep Busy was the best of the rest ahead of third-placed Dancin Inthestreet. Lambert Walk was fourth with Mighty Spirit fifth. We paid six places on this race and it was the 150/1 punt Illusionist who finished in our final paying position so congratulations if you picked that one.

13.50 The Albany Stakes 6f (1.50pm) – Dandalla

Dandalla dominated this race, pulling away from the pack in the final couple of furlongs to take a well deserved victory. Setarhe, the pre-race favourite finished second ahead of Mother Earth on fourth and Undertake in fourth. We’re giving you your money back as a free bet if you bet on a horse to win but it came 2nd, 3rd or 4th in this race.

14.25 The Norfolk Stakes 7f (2.25pm) – The Lir Jet

Golden Pal put in a great effort but couldn’t handle the heat as The Lir Jet turned on the afterburners inside the final furlong to take it by a head. Imperial Force took the final spot on the podium as Lipizzaner finished in fourth place.

Frankie Dettori Stradivarius Ascot 2020

15.00 The Hardwicke Stakes 7f (3pm) – Fanny Logan

Fanny Logan was able to stay out of the traffic and made it count, with Frankie Dettori perfectly timing his charge up the outside to take a rough and ready Hardwicke Stakes as his 70th Royal Ascot win. 40/1 shot Alounak was second with Defoe in third and Hamish made up the top four at 6s.

15.35 The Commonwealth Cup 2m4f (3.35pm) – Golden Horde

Frank Hickey’s NAP Golden Horde did the business at an SP of 5/1, fending off interest from the Dettori-ridden Kimari in second. Golden Horde got hold of the inside rail and accelerated throughout the race, staying well to take the day’s feature race in impressive style. Ventura Rebel took third and the 250/1 punt Royal Commando ran an excellent race to take 4th.

Royal Ascot 2020

16.10 The Queen’s Vase 1m (4.10pm) – Santiago

Our man on the ground Matt Chapman was bang on with his Santiago tip as the colt showed every ounce of his quality, hitting the front with three to go and never looking like relinquishing. He held on in style from Berkshire Rocco in second who himself finished three lengths in front of Al Dabaran in third as the favourite Born With Pride was fourth.

16.40 The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes 1m (4.40pm) – Scarlet Dragon

Scarlet Dragon took the closer by half a length at 33/1 following a thrilling three-way tussle with Deja and West End Charmer in the final furlong. West End Charmer started as favourite and did all the early running but couldn’t hold on as Hollie Doyle’s ride kicked on when it mattered.
