Horse Racing Tips: The best bets for all 10 races at Gulfstream on Wednesday

5pm: Violent Fight

Sweet Giant has found only one too strong on his last couple of appearances, and Beach Traffic only went down by a neck last time. They may have to settle for another supporting role, though, because VIOLENT FIGHT is fully expected to relish the rise to a route. Timing comes right into the reckoning if this is switched to the main track.

5.30pm Maverick Kitten

MAVERICK KITTEN produced only a fair effort last time, but he hit the crossbar twice prior to that and is selected on that basis. Mystery Bank has picked up plenty of place money and is joined on the list of dangers by Joe Benjamin.

6.02pm War Giant @ 1/2

WAR GIANT landed a $25k allowance optional claimer over track and trip before a couple of satisfactory performances in defeat. He should prove a class above this lot, with Millionaire Runner and Sensational Ride fancied to chase him home.

6.34pm Champagne Horizon

CHAMPAGNE HORIZON takes a significant drop in class after two below par performances and that could result in a third career success. Dana Grace has been knocking on the door and is likely to be in the mix again, with Breakfast Pond and Classy Of Course other names to note.

7.05pm Seamialaugh

SEAMIALAUGH left her debut performance well behind when third over 6f here and, with further improvement on the cards, she could prove tough to beat. Camellia Gal and Our Little Devil, both of whom drop in trip and class, are feared most.

7.37pm Chill Haze

CHILL HAZE had shaped with much promise before rearing at the start and losing all chance last time. He’s now dropped significantly in class and will take some stopping, providing he breaks on terms. Legal Deal also drops in grade and is respected, although the bigger danger might be Bridologist, who made a pleasing debut over track and trip in March.

8.09pm Patriot Drive

This is the lowest grade that PATRIOT DRIVE has competed at for a long time and if he reproduces the form which saw him finish fourth at Fair Grounds last time then he will take plenty of stopping. The shortlist is completed by Battle Of Blenheim and New Year.

8.41pm Quijote @ 6/4

Poseiden and Country Singer both merit respect this evening but the one to beat is clearly QUIJOTE, who is a dual course winner and the seven-year-old is proven at a much higher level than this.

9.13pm Cryogenic

CRYOGENIC failed to fire over 6f last time but his previous form over this trip is very strong and the five-year-old can be given another chance this evening. R Mercedes Boy edges out Valiant Virtue to be the pick of the remainder.

9.45pm Tony Small @ 2/1

In a tricky race to close the card the marginal preference is for TONY SMALL, who arrives here on the back of two good efforts in defeat at Aqueduct. Others who merit consideration are Bulkcarrier, Khattaf and Signified.
