Horse Racing tips: The best bets for all 10 Gulfstream Park races on Friday

5.45pm – Cactus Kitten @ 11/8

Subtle Joy was just ahead of Bettin Onna Kitten when they claimed minor money over a mile here, while Veer and Smartizar have shown some ability. The bar isn’t set very high at all, though, so a chance is taken on Mike Maker’s newcomer CACTUS KITTEN.

6.15pm – Special Inclusion

SPECIAL INCLUSION had Darla a length behind her in fourth when a pleasing runner-up on her first taste of competitive action, and Gilberto Zerpa’s youngster is taken to go one better. Say Cheese is easily the most interesting of the first-timers.

6.45pm – Sturgeon

It’s less than a week since STURGEON finished down the field in an allowance optional claimer over C&D, but the decision to turn him out again quickly in this lesser affair can result in a confidence boost. Earth and Black Jet could be the chief threats providing this isn’t switched to the main track and Combination makes it off the reserves’ bench.

7.15pm – Toffen

If racing switches to the main track then Bird Map, who has taken her form to a new level this year, would have a great chance. However, TOFFEN looks the one to be on after her close-up second in this company last time. Hurricane Breeze is another to consider closely.

$125,000 yearling DEEMED ESSENTIAL has been working well ahead of her racecourse debut and, representing the powerful Todd Pletcher barn, she makes plenty of appeal. Alpha Babe and Jill’s A Hot Mess are other interesting newcomers, while Race Day Speed looks the pick of those who have already had a run.

8.16pm – Conquistador

CONQUISTADOR is holding his form well at present and his latest second behind Positive Phil reads well in the context of this race. Lookin At Roses finished a place behind the selection last time and joins Vintage Kitten on the shortlist.

8.49pm – Island Tap @ 20/1

Apache Brave has strong claims after returning with a good second over C&D, while Good Bye Greg and R Boy Evens must also be considered, but it may be worth taking a chance on ISLAND TAP at longer odds. He paid the price for getting in a battle for the lead on dirt here latest, but made all with ease on turf over C&D the time before and could bounce back now returned to grass.

9.21pm – Flora Fantasy

FLORA FANTASY has won her last three starts, all over his C&D, and this consistent mare looks the one they all have to beat again as she makes her debut for the in-form Jorge Delgado yard. That said, she only just held Sayonara Baby latest, and How Sweep It Is the time before, and they must be feared as a result.

9.52pm – Poseidon’s Passion

POSEIDON’S PASSION has won both turf starts this year, taking her winning streak to three in the process, and this progressive speedster rates the one to beat again. However, facile maiden scorer Tweet Away Robin and C&D double seeker Swirling Candy are serious threats.

10.24pm – Nimble Beast

Wind Ridge and Superhighway are unexposed and must be considered now eased in class, but NIMBLE BEAST arrives on the back of a good second over 7f here at the start of the month and a repeat performance may suffice today.
