Horse Racing tips: The best bets for EVERY Clairefontaine race on Thursday

The Racing Post's top tips for today's action across the Channel

10.10am – Whaze @ 11/8

Interesting maiden. WHAZE put in a good debut performance over 1600m at St Cloud 12 May. Can come on from the run. Top chance. Ommeel may further improve following a third on his first start at Deauville in February. Include. Zealandia put in a good performance finishing fourth at St Cloud in September and is interesting for this race. Debutante Moon Palace is well-bred and deserves a market check.

10.40am – Lady Portia

LADY PORTIA was a short-priced odds-on favourite when resuming at Fontainebleau in March. May pay to follow-up. Ultramarine comes with the training polish of Jean-Claude Rouget and performed well enough on both starts to break-through. Shariq ran on at the end of his past two attempts over 1600m. Distance to suit. Best Step finished close-up on both outings and may surprise at odds with the drop in trip.

11.10am – Natural Path @ 3/1

NATURAL PATH is two starts for two wins. Logical progress but this is harder. Even so is the horse to beat. Nat King was placed in grade before being well held in a Listed race. Chance. Ziegfeld won on debut at this course in July however not seen since. Can win again first-up. Icatcher is hard to assess following latest Listed eighth. Outside claims.

11.40am – Havasu @ 14/1

A few chances. HAVASU has not been seen since debut in May last year when a well-beaten favourite. Andre Fabre trains. Do better. Vintern was able to lead on debut in July and kept on. First up here. Respect. Merci Pour Tout progressed to finish second last start in October. Distance will suit. Include. Cap Skirring showed enough on debut in February to be a chance.

Horse Racing Longchamp

12.10pm – Azano @ 6/1

AZANO won a G3 in June and outclassed next two. Not seen since September but expect a forward run. Devil secured a victory in a G3 last season and placed G2. Failed first-up G3 might bounce back. Milord’s Song has a G3 placing from last May and consistent since. Among the chances. Stunning Spirit was a G3 placegetter last August and will be fitter for Chantilly run last week.

12.50pm – Tonnencourt @ 10/3

TONNENCOURT has been in stronger Listed races of late and whilst first up since October is on a manageable mark and could go well fresh. Urwald was contesting Group races and has a Listed win from April 2019. Comes with a touch of class. Midnight Shine delivered a handicap success two outings ago and faces a new mark for this race. Each way. Takuendo is consistent in condition races and may go well on handicap debut. Rimini finished second last start at this level.

MORE TIPS:

1.20pm – Bibi Voice @ 13/2

BIBI VOICE will appreciate this grade after winning stronger handicaps. Multiple winner over the distance. Top choice. Jaayiz has been thereabouts of late and only beaten 1L St Cloud 12 May. This is easier. Chance. Molly Sunshine comes after a surprise win at Compiegne in March. Could back up. Calaf is filling a placing and can do so again.

1.50pm – Tarida

TARIDA is the horse to beat following two seconds in handicap races. Top choice. Delta Spirit enters handicap company for the first time and is on a manageable mark. Include. Chasing Gold has a good record in condition races and may go well on handicap debut. Don’t be surprised if Miss Believe follows up her past two placings. My Charming Prince is a last start winner at Longchamp 11 May and is up both in weight and class. With a good record over the trip holds claims.

2.20pm – Kendiss @ 2/1

KENDISS has finished runner-up past four outings. Overdue a success and can get involved despite carrying top weight. Snifter followed up a maiden success with a second in a conditions race. Returns after a four-month break and must be respected. Vivi Bonnebouille remains unexposed after three career starts. Drops in trip and rates highly. Belle Impression could sneak a place.
