Paul Nicholls: I really fancy Posh Trish on Thursday – she’s my pick of the week

As we pass the half-way stage the former champion trainer is in no doubt who his best chance of the meeting is...

JLT Novices’ Chase – 1.30pm

Lostintranslation and Defi Du Seuil have got very close form. They have one win over each other this season so I think it’s between those two.

Ryanair Chase – 2.50pm

Frodon has been in brilliant form, a Cotswold Chase winner and he’s won three of his last four races. I think he has a big, big chance in this race.

He loves this track, he loves the ground, he’s fresh and well and he’ll run very well.

Stayers’ Hurdle – 3.30pm

Paisley Park is probably the one to beat here. If you’re looking for one to beat him, it might just be Faugheen.

I’d give the old boy a chance here.

Brown Advisory Stable Place – 4.10pm

From an original six entries, we’ve just two that will line up in Modus and Romain De Senam.

Modus won here earlier in the season over two miles while Romain De Senam won at Taunton over three miles and was fourth at Kempton after that.

Posh-Trish

Mares Novices’ Hurdle – 4.50pm

I love Posh Trish here. She’s won four this season, she’s tough and she’s in good order, working nicely. She loves to be fresh and I think she’s got a great chance. She’s won at Cheltenham and she won at the November meeting last season. She won’t mind the challenge and she’ll gallop up that hill. I’d have her as my pick of the week.

I really, really fancy her

Kim Muir – 5.30pm

Trevor Hemmings’ Touch Kick has been improving. He won at Taunton recently but he’d have to improve again and has an each-way chance at best.
