She is very highly rated by her informed trainer and, like others in the lineup, is bidding to hold on to that 100% record.

Poets Vanity managed to win the Oh So Sharp Stakes at the end of her two-year-old season, and in her three-year-old campaign went down the Fillies classic route finishing behind Daban, then Winter in the 1000 Guineas. She dropped back sprinting and bumped into Harry Angel and then lost her away at the tail end of that campaign. The return run at Kempton would’ve put her spot on and she’s an each way player here at 17/2.

Threading looked top class when bolting up at Goodwood on debut and following up in the lowther at York, thrown in at the deep end afterwards when finding Clemmie far too good in the Cheveley Park and also disappointing on her return over the same course this season, possibly the track at Newmarket was to blame and she can be seen in a better light dropping grade over this track.

Max Dynamite bolted up in the Lonsdale cup here in 2015 & has not been over raced on the level since. On official ratings he has a little to find with Stradivarius but his recent runs on the flat, when three lengths behind Rekindling and just over three lengths behind Highland Reel, rates as top class form & he’s going to give the favourite plenty to think about.

A quick look back through the company that Kings Gift has been keeping and you can seriously upgrade his form now dropping into handicap, behind the likes of Barney Roy, Brametot and Benbatl, all group one performers. I’m hoping his confidence has not been shattered running against those types and he retains enough ability to go very well again at an each way price of around 9/1.
