Ruby: ‘I wouldn’t be putting anyone off my Dad’s 13/2 shot at Downpatrick’

Should be an interesting day at Downpatrick tomorrow for the Walsh household....

14.10 Maiden Hurdle

Willie runs Caro Des Flos. He’s possibly the frustrating type to follow. Percy of Gordon Elliott’s and Devil’s Glen of Alan Fleming’s probably pose the biggest threats but this doesn’t look the strongest maiden hurdle in the world. Two miles two is probably just about far enough for Caro Des Flos but he should be there or there abouts.

14.45 Rated Hurdle

Hey Little Boy is running for Willie here, it’s a conditions hurdle. I actually fancy Oscar’s Den for my Dad in this one. Katie’s riding him, he’s rated 119. He’s a pound wrong with Hey Little Boy but I think he could be more progressive and I think he’s the one to beat here.

15.55 Ulster National

This is a very competitive race but Poormans Hill has been unbelievablly progressive and I still think there’s a race in him off a rating of 120 here so that’s who I’m siding with.

17.35 Bumper

Willie runs Getareason here. I know Patrick likes him, our bumper horses are in very good form. Rio Vivas won in Navan on Friday and hopefully Getareason can make it a double for us.

Sunday’s best bet is Getareason but I wouldn’t put anyone off backing Oscar’s Den on my Dad’s.
