Five tasty tips from our Horse Racing traders for Punchestown on Sunday

Faugheen's the star of the show, but there are plenty more tips to go around on this one...

12:00 Punchestown

Josies Orders, who had a nice comeback at Galway in a handicap hurdle, would look the obvious one to beat in this race. He’s dominated the cross country scene recently, and after being absent for the 2017 race at Cheltenham, it’s expected he’ll take all the beating in this one.

13:05 Craddockstown Novice Chase

The 2m novice chase division is always one of the most exciting, and this race has thrown up a good renewal this year.

Brelade has been busy already this year but has been well held twice by Footpad and Petit Mouchoir. Calino D’airy was impressive at Galway last time out, albeit in a weaker race and Woodland Opera ideally needs further than this.

Tombstone is the obvious favourite and will probably take a lot of beating. But he’s not the most reliable and the form of Brelades last two defeats could see him take this.

13:40 Florida Pearl Novice Chase

This is a fascinating race, and whoever wins it will be considered a big player in the RSA at Cheltenham. Presenting Percy is the obvious favourite after his impressive win at Galway recently.

Shattered Love won impressively last time out in a mares chase and looks still unexposed – Jury Duty would be the other main danger. However a repeat of his Galway run should see Presenting Percy get the job done.

14:15 Morgiana Hurdle

This is exciting stuff with the return of the superb Faugheen. The vibes have been very positive recently and a run anywhere near his Irish Champion Hurdle run in 2016 should see him win this easily.

Vroum Vroum Mag disappointed a couple of times in the spring, Jezki probably has his best days behind him and Campeador, albeit an exciting prospect, may not have the form in the book. Therefore Faugheen is surely the most likely winner and should win this.

15:55 Punchestown

On a day with some pretty short-priced favourites, Rapid Escape should round it off with a convincing win in the last. He was impressive at Down Royal recently, and prior to that he ran a solid race in what now looks to be one of the hottest bumpers of last year in the Goffs Landrover.

The biggest danger may be The Holy One, trained by Jessica Harrington, but Rapid Escape will more than likely get the job done here.
