The Champion Hurdle is the feature race on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival in 2023 and we could see Constitution Hill take on State Man.
Constitution Hill remains unbeaten and the Nicky Henderson runner put in the performance of last year’s meeting when bolting up in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, winning by 22 lengths.
State Man has emerged as Ireland’s leading hurdler after defeating Honeysuckle at the Dublin Racing Festival and it looks like the dual Champion Hurdle heroine is set to swerve a clash with Constitution Hill in favour of the Mares’ Hurdle.
You can run the rule over our Champion Hurdle odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details about this year’s renewal can be found below.

Constitution Hill is, unsurprisingly, the favourite with Paddy Power for the Champion Hurdle as he goes for his sixth win. He won by 22 lengths at Cheltenham last year but can he pull off a similar victory?
Willie Mullins’ State Man looks the most likely to cause Constitution Hill any problems. He’s won his last six races under Mullins, who will be desperate to stun Constitution Hill.
