Cloth Cap faces 20 rivals as the Ladbrokes Trophy hero attempts to follow in Arkle’s hooves by being the first back-to-back winner since 1965.
Jonjo O’Neill’s charge scored by 10l at Newbury in 2020 but finds himself 18lbs worse off compared to last year and is rated the joint-second best horse in the race with Eklat De Rire behind Brahma Bull. The latter duo form part of a four-strong squad of Irish-trained runners including the Munster National winner Ontheropes and Annamix.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
The 21 runners and riders are set to go to post at 3pm on Saturday, November 27 ahead of a 3m 2f trip. The going is likely to be Good to Soft due to unseasonably dry weather, although it’s worth nothing that last year’s renewal was run on Good ground.

Willie Mullins saddled Total Recall to victory in 2017 and the Closutton handler boasts this year’s hot fancy, Ontheropes. The Munster National winner is high in the handicap but the weight of 11st 7lbs is eased by the booking of claimer Sean O’Keeffe.
Eklat De Rire is likely to attract support thanks to the Henry de Bromhead x Rachael Blackmore dream team. The trainer-and-jockey duo will be hoping it’s another super Saturday after striking in last weekend’s Betfair Chase with A Plus Tard.
Fiddlerontheroof leads the British charge and is hoping to make it two wins from two for the campaign after opening up with a Listed success at Carlisle last month.
Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls’ big threat is Enrilo, who rounded off last campaign by finishing third in the Gold Cup at Sandown Park.
The youngest horse in the field, Kitty’s Light, has been rising up the ratings after hitting the post on his last three runs.
Meanwhile, defending champion Cloth Cap has to carry 11st 8lbs but is prominent in our betting market as he makes his second start since a wind operation.
