Preference for GISBURN, who showed promise here four weeks ago, is only tentative as there are some interesting types among the many newcomers. Codify, Kingmax, Harrow and Golden War are suggested for the shortlist (in that order of preference) but keep a close eye on the betting for movers.
14:25 Major Jumbo
A smallish field but several of the runners could be ahead of their marks. Beyond Equal bumped into an improver at Windsor and looks sure to be thereabouts again, while Barbill has several good C&D efforts to his name and looks a solid contender after an encouraging reappearance. But the vote goes to MAJOR JUMBO, who kept smart company last year, had an excuse first time out and has been given a chance by the handicapper.

There should be plenty more to come from the nicely bred BEHELD, who is taken to defy a penalty for her debut success here last August. Badlands is feared most, ahead of Sunset. Himyan looks the pick of the newcomers.
15:25 Byron Hill
Potenza has an obvious chance off the same mark as for last week’s Chester win but there are several plausible alternatives in this competitive field, notably BYRON HILL and Captain Haddock in that order of preference. Those two 4yos are similar types who may well build on their sound reappearance runs. Spring Glow is open to further progress and Alargedram is a potential improver, while a few others also have possibilities.

A race that seems certain to throw up future winners, and probably smart ones at that. The market should be informative, particularly with regard to the four well-bred newcomers, but it was hard not to be impressed by MOJO STAR on his debut here in October and he gets the vote with today’s longer distance likely to suit. The Gosdens’ Zagato looks a big threat, while General Lee shaped well at Goodwood on his reappearance and should be thereabouts as well.
16:25 Annandale (NAP)
The winner of this often progresses to better things. ANNANDALE (nap) looks a typically tenacious Johnston handicapper and he was never stronger than through the line when winning over a furlong shorter at Nottingham. Oceanline and Otyrar are both ready for today’s extra yardage and are feared in that order.
16:55 Sword Beach
An open finale. SWORD BEACH wins nothing on his latest piece of form but his reappearance effort was encouraging enough and he won’t mind returning to softer ground. Blackcastle Storm is handicapped to win races and he’s feared most, along with Sir Plato.
