On the latest episode of our ‘Countdown to Cheltenham’ podcast, a listener asked Frank Hickey to pick four horses covering the championship races for an each-way Lucky 15 for the 2021 Cheltenham Festival – where Paddy Power is non-runner money back on all races.
Paddy’s trader offered up three picks at double-figure prices and one favourite. Can his Lucky 15 come in for our listener to live the dream?
Frank and legendary jockey Ruby Walsh also offered their National Hunt Chase and Champion Bumper tips during their 45-minute discussion. You can listen to the full show BELOW.
Aspire Tower – Champion Hurdle
When we talk about pace in the Champion Hurdle, there is one horse that is absolutely guaranteed to kick on and that is Aspire Tower. He has a difficult task to beat Epatante and Honeysuckle but he is the only one I would even consider backing.
Questions
Sceau Royal – Queen Mother Champion Chase
The forecast is quite good so on the basis of decent ground Sceau Royal will be quite hopeful there. He beat Champ by two lengths in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury last month.
Vinndication – Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle
There are rumours Vinndication is going to go hurdling so it’ll be very interesting if he does. He was 3-3 over flights before switching to chasing in late 2018.
Al Boum Photo – Gold Cup
Al Boum Photo goes in the history books – put him in, he’ll win. He’s got versatility, he won a strongly-run Gold Cup in 2019 and a tactical one in 2020 so what beats him?
