The progressive MAKE IT RAIN (nap) is a little unlucky not be unbeaten on AW and can land another win. Fellow 3yo Daheer is also building up a very good record on artificial surfaces and may provide the chief threat.

It’s likely that all-the-way Southwell maiden winner KITZBUHEL has more to offer as a lightly raced sort for a good yard, so he’s the pick. Recent Lingfield second and third Bashful Boy and My Girl Maggie may give him most to think about.

A useful contest. PAPA STOUR hasn’t looked back since joining Stuart Williams and may be able to defy the handicapper again, with the form of his latest Kempton success franked next time by the second and fourth. Misty Grey rates an obvious danger as he goes in search of a course hat-trick, while Tranchee has proved most consistent since joining David Loughnane and is also respected.

There is little doubt that Boosala is the most intriguing runner and his master trainer has found the right sort of race for him on the back of a 519-day absence. The betting should guide as to the confidence behind him but there are viable alternatives. Above drops in grade and should give it a good go, while a peak-form Lord Of The Lodge would be dangerous and both Tawny Port and Fizzy Feet ran well in defeat in good handicaps last time. ON THE WARPATH is a smart performer on his day, though, and he can confirm the promise of last month’s Listed third at Lingfield.

All of the once-raced horses are open to improvement. ROBUSTLY, who showed some promise here four weeks ago, may be the answer. C&D scorer Donny Marlow is second choice ahead of Big Thanks and Blue Moonrise. Mystify Me looks best of the newcomers and has to be feared, especially if the market speaks positively.

Final Voyage, Sweet Bertie and Solent Gateway enter calculations but this may be the day that things click for SHIELDED. He’s let his supporters down in his two runs so far but he has also displayed ability and the addition of headgear could be of benefit.
