After a thrilling Scottish Open last week, we’re back for the Open Championship 2022 at St Andrews.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS
The Sporting Life’s Ben Coley and Paddy Power trader Iain Mclaughlin have already given their Open Championship 2022 outright winner betting tips but is there any other value in the market? Let’s see what they think…
Ben Coley
I’m looking at Thriston Lawrence to be the Top South African Player, which is a bit weaker than it usually is as we haven’t got Charl Schwartzel. Louis Oosthuizen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout are at the top of the betting but I’m not keen on the pair of them. Lawrence has been one of the quiet success stories of the tour.
He won the Joburg Open and that’s been a springboard for him. He finished 24th in a world class Scottish Open last week and he has loads of links golf form. I’m not saying he’s going to win it all, even though he could, but backing him in the Top South African Player market is a smart move. He’s a great each-way bet.
Iain Mclaughlin
Padraig Harrington to Finish in the Top 40 looks a brilliant bet at The Open this weekend. He won the US Senior Open last month and he hit the ball really well. Those conditions could be similar to this weekend so we know he can handle them.
I’ve tipped him up as a great each-way bet at a huge price but there’s definitely value in backing Harrington to Finish in the Top 40 at a tidy price.
