It doesn’t get much weaker in events than this. There’s no top 50 player entered in the John Deere Classic this year.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Nick Hardy
This is a great opportunity for Nick Hardy, who is from Illinois, so this is his hometown. This is probably his dream set of circumstances too. He’s arriving in form and all the best players aren’t turning up.
He finished in the top 10 last week, which was his first ever PGA Tour top 10. He’s so much more confident now than he used to be.
Scott Stallings
The other one I really like is Scott Stallings and he’s also bang in form too. He’s a three-time PGA Tour winner and he’s better than most of the field when he’s on it. He’s got two top-10 finishes in his last four tournaments.
He’s got loads of low rounds at this course but he can be streaky. Over the last three rounds last week, he was the best player in the field. If he can pick up where he left off, he could be celebrating come Sunday.

David Lipsky
I also have two outsider picks and the first is David Lipsky. He went to college in Illinois so we’ve got another local connection there.
This course is perfect for him as he’s not the longest hitter but he hits a lot of fairways and he can make plenty of birdie’s. When he’s putting well, he can be really dangerous. It’s about time he was making a splash on the PGA Tour as well.
Bill Haas
Bill Haas seems to be back on track after a serious car accident a few years ago. He’s made 11 cuts in his last 13 starts so confidence is building. He hit the ball well last week and he’s a massive price.
