Padraig Harrington’s finalised Team Europe’s 12-man roster to beat the Americans on their own patch – but who will lead the way for the visitors at Whistling Straits?
Paddy’s put his best men on the job to price up a whole host of betting markets for the Ryder Cup 2021, which takes place from Friday September 24 to Sunday September 26, including the Top European Points Scorer.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
In the shock of all shocks, world number one Jon Rahm (7/2) is the favourite in our market, despite missing the cut at the Fortinet Championship. The Spaniard reclaimed his place at the top of the rankings thanks to his U.S. Open success while he was one shot off victory in the recent Tour Championship.
Irishman Rory McIlroy (5/1) will be donning Team Europe’s colours for the sixth time in his career and he’ll no doubt be hoping to play a starring role having slipped out of the top 10 in the world rankings this year.
Ryder Cup rookie Viktor Hovland (7/1) has enjoyed a consistent 2021 and topped the scoresheets at the BMW International Open, while Tommy Fleetwood (17/2) makes his second appearance in the competition after impressing in Europe’s triumph in 2018.
Europe’s all-time leading points scorer Sergio Garcia (9/1) is a reliable Ryder Cup veteran and at the other end of the spectrum is Shane Lowry (9/1) who makes his debut in the team competition after being named as one of Harrington’s captain’s picks.
Paul Casey (10/1) is undefeated in nine of his 12 matches for Team Europe, while Ian Poutler (12/1) has a history of clutch moments and boasts an enviable record of 14 wins in 22 matches across six Ryder Cup appearances.
Tyrrell Hatton (13/1) kicked off the year with victory at the HSBC Championship but has missed the cut four times in his last six tournaments and will hope to improve on his sole Ryder Cup appearance in 2018.
Matthew Fitzpatrick (14/1) is without a tournament win this year and tied his two matches for Europe in 2016, Lee Westwood (20/1) will be appearing at his 11th Ryder Cup while 35-year-old rookie Bernd Wiesberger (22/1) – the first Austrian to make the team – props up our market.
