The captains are in place. The players have been selected. The three-day fiesta that is the Ryder Cup is set to swing into town, well, specifically Haven in Wisconsin.
Team Europe – led by Irish legend Padraig Harrington – will head across the pond to defend the trophy won in France in 2018 when they routed Team USA 17½ to 10½. Jon Rahm led the way in qualification while Shane Lowry joined Ryder Cup legends Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia as a captain’s pick.

The Americans went down a different route with skipper Steve Stricker being granted six wildcards alongside six automatic qualifiers including rivals Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

The 43rd Ryder Cup takes place at Whistling Straits between Friday September 24 to Sunday September 26 and it looks set to be a blockbuster edition. As it’s heading Stateside, get ready for yells of ‘get in the hole!’ from the crowd.

A look back over the years suggests that playing on home soil is fairly important with five of the last six hosts winning the competition, with the one exception being Team Europe’s Miracle at Medinah in 2012.
