Clare v Limerick
Munster Final, throw-in, Sunday, 1:45pm
TV: RTE Two
Limerick To Win By 1-3pts
I think this will be very, very close. We saw it the last day against Cork, Limerick are back smiling, their mojo is back. They don’t do panic, they know how to get over the line in tight matches. After a slow start to their Munster campaign, they just seem to be getting back up to speed and I’d just edge it for Limerick to do the five in-a-row at the weekend by a couple of points.
The game’s going to be won in and around that warzone in the middle third. We’re talking the Limerick half back line, midfield and half forward line and that’s where Limerick have been really dominant over the last four to five years.
Clare have the players to go toe-to-toe with them in that area of the field but a big loss for Clare is going to be Conor Cleary at the back. Whoever wins in that warzone is going to come out on top and I just feel that Limerick, like we saw against Cork will come out on top, so I’m backing them to win by 1-3 points here.
Aaron Gillane First Goalscorer
A player like Clare’s Mark Rodgers might be someone to keep an eye on here, there’s some good odds on him to be the First Goalscorer here but I can’t really look past Limerick’s Aaron Gillane. He’s in hurler of the year form, he’s back to his best, he’s dangerous inside whether the sliotar comes in high or low. He’s the one that you can guarantee who’s going to get plenty of opportunities so I’m backing him to be the First Goalscorer.

Galway To Win By 1-3pts
I’m going to go for Galway, I just feel that it’s their time. I liked the way they finished out the game against Dublin recently. I think if they can bring that to the table and if they can throw in a couple of the lads that manager Henry Shefflin benched that day, Jason Flynn came in off the bench and he was brilliant, Brian Concannon as well.
I’d fully expect Concannon to start, he may hold Flynn back for off the bench again. If the likes of Conor Cooney and Conor Whelan can find their form, I’d give Galway the nod by a few points.
Billy Ryan First Goalscorer
I’m going to go for Billy Ryan here at some great odds, there’s certainly some value here in this market.
