F1 Tips: Las Vegas Grand Prix best bets including a 5/2 Charles Leclerc punt

Viva Las Vegas!

Charles Leclerc driving a Ferrari in Las Vegas

Lando Norris will need to take a few gambles in Sin City if he’s to stop Max Verstappen wrapping up a fourth-consecutive drivers’ championship this weekend.

The Red Bull ace delivered a simply lovely performance to rout the field at Interlagos last time out and is on the brink of the Formula 1 title with three rounds left of the 2024 season.

Our tipster Alex Harris landed an 11/2 punt on the Brazilian Grand Prix and is back with a few fancies for this weekend after running the rule over Paddy Power’s Las Vegas Grand Prix betting.

F1 Tips

Overall Qualification Winner – Lando Norris
Winner – Charles Leclerc
Points Finish – Liam Lawson

WHEN: Sunday, November 24 – 06:00
WHERE: Las Vegas Strip Circuit
TV: Sky Sports F1

Overall Qualification Winner – Lando Norris

Lando Norris was out of luck in the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix as he qualified in 16th before retiring on the third lap.

It was a tricky weekend in general for McLaren as Oscar Piastri settled for a 10th-place finish after starting 18th on the grid.

The MCL38 is a different beast to its predecessor, however, and Norris has been a monster in qualifying, claiming five out of a possible seven pole positions since the summer break.

It is that strong run of form over one lap that makes Norris a fancy to be the Overall Qualification Winner this weekend.

Winner – Charles Leclerc

We have little in terms of history to work with as there has been just one previous edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but I think clues for this weekend could be found in our most recent visit to the United States.

Charles Leclerc delivered one of his best drives at the Circuit of the Americas last month and similarities in track layout means the SF-24 could thrive in race trim.

Sure, Ferrari had a bit of a stinker in Brazil as Leclerc finished fifth and Carlos Sainz retired, but I expect a significant return to form for the pair around the Sin City streets.

The Monegasque was a superb second in last year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix and could feasibly go one better.

Points Finish – Liam Lawson

Liam Lawson has caught the eye since returning to the grid in last month’s United States Grand Prix.

The Kiwi bagged ninth-place finishes at the Circuit of the Americas and Interlagos during the Americas triple header.

He is a man on a mission to bag RB’s second seat for the 2025 season and that motivation should see him scrapping throughout.

The worry is that the VCARB 01 has hardly made an impression all season and the path to a top-10 finish is more competitive than it has ever been, but Lawson looks a decent price for a Points Finish.
