Justice Payout: We’ve paid out on BOTH George Russell and Lewis Hamilton to win the Belgian Grand Prix

Mercedes didn't get the one-two finish they wanted - so we've come up with one of our own

When is a winner not a winner? Well, when it comes to the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix at Paddy Power, erm, never!

After original race winner George Russell was disqualified for the race at Spa on Sunday, and team-mate Lewis Hamilton subsequently bumped up from second to top spot, we’ve paid out on BOTH to win the race.

You know it makes sense.

Russell got to spray the champagne and lord it up on the podium after his surprise win, but the fun didn’t last long as his car came in under the minimum weight restriction after the race.

And despite being officially turfed out of the grand prix, the right thing to do was to pay out on the ‘victory’ for those of you who backed the Brit to get the job done.

So while Mercedes didn’t get the one-two finish that looked in the bag, we’ve paid out on both Mercedes drivers winning the race with Russell and Hamilton backers landing the loot.
