Premier League title race permutations as Arsenal lead the pack

Who wins it?

Premier League Trophy

The race for the Premier League title is heating up, with Arsenal in front by just a point.

Manchester City took a break from league action last weekend to contest the FA Cup semi-final so they have a chance to return to the summit if they win their game in hand.

Liverpool’s defeat in the Merseyside derby sees them fall further behind, but they are still mathematically in with a chance of lifting the trophy.

There are still some big games to play between now and the end of the campaign so there’s no guarantee any of the three teams involved won’t drop more points.

All three sides are now also out of European competition so they can put all their focus on the run-in.

The latest Premier League title race odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise, all the key details on what each team needs to win the title can be found below.

Manchester City

Defending champions Manchester City are just a point behind Arsenal but, crucially, have a game in hand.

If they win all of their remaining fixtures then they will become the first side to win four Premier Leagues in a row. A point in their game in hand would put them level with Arsenal but they’d have to overcome the Gunners’ superior goal difference.

Pep Guardiola’s men have a fairly straightforward run of games, but all eyes will be on their visit to Tottenham.

Arsenal

Arsenal take on Tottenham in the north London derby and still face a tough visit to Old Trafford before the season is over.

It’s no longer in their hands and, even if they win all their remaining games, they will have to hope chasing City drop points if they are to secure a first title since 2004.

Their superior goal difference means Pep Guardiola’s side drawing just once would put the race back in Arsenal’s hands.

Will it be the second heartbreak in a row for Mikel Arteta’s side?

Liverpool

Their slip-ups against Crystal Palace and Everton mean that Liverpool have fallen behind in the race for the title, and it looks unlikely Jurgen Klopp will get the fairytale send-off many predicted.

The Reds currently sit three points behind leaders Arsenal, but could go five points off the summit if City win their game in hand.

They can’t afford to drop any more points and need both Arsenal and City to come unstuck if they are to have any chance.
