Arsenal v Man United – Sunday, 4:30pm
TV: Sky Sports Main Event
Obviously Arsenal started badly giving the goal away but they came back against Fulham in the second-half and looked to have it under control.
It’s one of those results where, on another day, they win. Let’s be honest – they battered Fulham after conceding that goal.
People might look at some of the defensive changes Arteta made and try to make out the result is his fault but I don’t think it was really. It was just one of those days.
It becomes an uphill struggle when you give cheap goals away and that’s what happened.
Results like that could obviously cost them in the long run.
The way the Premier League is now with Man City having been so dominant in recent years, you just can’t drop points at home to Fulham if you are going to win the league.
They’re expected to have Gabriel Jesus back on Sunday. they coped without him for a long spell last season but it’ll be good to have him available again.
Man United came back as well from a slow start – and won – on Saturday, but they weren’t convincing either.
Letting in two goals in four minutes was an absolute disaster for them.
They did recover at least, and they showed character to get back into the game. Somewhere like Old Trafford can be a very tough place when you’re 2-0 down at home and they fought back.
But it doesn’t look like a league-winning team at the moment and the injuries to the likes of Varane, Shaw, Mount and Hojlund won’t help.
You’d really have to expect Arsenal to take advantage of that.
It should be a close game and both teams have goals in them, I just see the home side getting the best of it in the end, but United should also get a goal at least.
I always fancy Bukayo Saka for Arsenal now. Jesus and Nketiah are good options up front and could be available, but Saka’s the biggest threat for me.
For United, it’s Marcus Rashford.
He was the difference last Saturday when they came back to win. He took the game by the scruff on the neck, he made the Eriksen goal, was involved with Casemiro;’s too and won the penalty. If United score, it’s to not see him being part of it.
I can see Untied getting frustrated if this goes the way I expect and there should be a few challenges and fouls flying around. Casemiro is probably the likeliest to be involved in breaking up play and I could see him getting the ref’s attention.
