The FA Cup Fourth Round is like test match cricket this year. It’s spread across five days with a mixture of excitement and boredom guaranteed to rise and fall as we go through the 16 matches.
With only four of the games being all Premier League affairs, there’s the possibility of a few upsets. Maybe something crazy will happen like Manchester United winning a home game in routine fashion. The magic of the FA Cup means that anything is possible.
PP football tipster Andrew Beasley’s rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in. He’s got four single bets and a treble for us.

Friday, 8pm: Man United v Leicester – Man Utd most shots on target each half & Leicester most fouls each half
TV: ITV 1
As the Friday night lights will be on at Old Trafford, we may as well start our best bets round up there. Leicester are the visitors, just as they have been already twice this season.
If the league table doesn’t convince you the Foxes are out of their depth (and it should), they have been beaten twice by United by three goals in 2024/25; not even Bodo/Glimt or Rangers lost that badly in Manchester. With Ruben Amorim’s side not even odds-on to finish in the top half of the table, they may as well focus on the cup with a full-strength starting XI.
Yes, I know that will still be rubbish, but they should put a few past a Leicester defence, that leaks worse than the Old Trafford roof.
The price for a home win is skinny, so let’s be creative with a #WhatOddsPaddy pick. Amorim’s boys should dominate and force the Foxes into plenty of defending, so ‘Man Utd most shots on target in each half & Leicester commit the most fouls in each half’ looks a fine selection.
Saturday 3pm: Southampton v Burnley – Burnley +1
The odds for Burnley to beat Southampton are very enticing considering the teams are only two places apart in the league.
The Clarets have also only conceded nine league goals all season. Yes, nine.
Southampton have conceded 14 in their last four at home alone. If you take Burnley in the Handicap Betting, your bet pays out if they avoid defeat in 90 minutes. That looks very likely to me, get on it!

Saturday 3pm: Everton v Bournemouth – BTTS & over 2.5 goals
The score lines in the last round included 8-0, 6-2, 5-1 and 5-0. Things can rapidly get out of hand, like they did the last time Bournemouth went to Goodison Park.
There were five goals, with the Cherries getting three of them from the 87th minute onwards to win 3-2. There should be a few this weekend too, with Everton in free-scoring form at home and Andoni Iraola’s injury-ravaged squad knackered beyond belief.
It should be an open game. A bet on Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals looks the one for me. Four of the last six meetings have seen at least three goals, after all.
Saturday 8pm: Brighton v Chelsea – Jackson to score
TV: ITV 1
Fancy a goal scorer flutter? With any game in a domestic cup competition, it’s always worth waiting for team news to see who is rested and who has been forced to play.
One player who desperately needs a goal is Chelsea frontman Nicolas Jackson. If I were Enzo Maresca, I’d give him an opportunity to end his eight-game scoring drought by facing a team that got walloped 7-0 by Nottingham Forest last weekend.
It’s not like Jackson hasn’t had chances recently, with a total of 22 shots fired off since he last scored. Back him to score any time at Brighton, his poor run can’t last for ever.
And if he starts, but remains wasteful, Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer means your bet passes to whoever comes off the bench to replace him.
Treble – Man City, Liverpool & Forest -2 Handicap
Handicap bets are a good way to get some value out of the one-sided ties this weekend.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool are away at teams who are roughly halfway down their league – they face Leyton Orient (sixth in League One) and Plymouth (bottom of the Championship), respectively.
The margin is even wider for Nuno Espirito Santo’s High Flying Trees. Nottingham Forest are at 17th in League One Exeter City on Tuesday night, by which time most people will have forgotten about the FA Cup until the next round, whenever that is.
While all three of these Premier League sides will rotate, they’ll bring in players who haven’t featured much and will be keen to make a positive impression. City, Liverpool, and Forest are all at -2 in the handicap betting, but combining the trio in a treble comes out at around 13/1 at the time of writing.
They’ve all won away from home in the Premier League by at least three goals, so there’s no reason they can’t do so in these matches.
