Premier League Tips: Joe Cole’s 7/1 Wednesday night treble featuring Everton, Palace & Newcastle

Joe's got a tasty treble from the win markets.

For Wednesday night’s Premier League action, we’ve got David Moyes returning to Goodison Park, where he’ll oversee Everton taking on Aston Villa. Leicester host Crystal Palace and Newcastle at home to Wolves.

Paddy Power ambassador Joe Cole reckons it’ll be a night to remember for Moyes and has two other picks as well.

I can only imagine that David Moyes has taken the job because he’s going to be allowed to spend money. You look at that Everton squad and you think that Sean Dyche did fantastically. The way Dyche’s been treated is disgusting, and I know Everton fans will disagree with me, but you have to look at what he’d got there, and he’d no money to spend either.

He was relying on the likes of 39-year-old Ashley Young. I mean, Young still playing at that age is phenomenal, but having strikers injured and out of form and trying to blood young players, I reckon Dyche did really well at Everton. And all that with the club not backing him. I’d have to presume that Moyes is going to be backed financially by the new owners.

The place will be packed and bouncing because he’s a legend there, and I think they’re going to get that immediate bounce. I see this one ending 1-0 to the home side.

Leicester should struggle here. When Ruud van Nistelrooy took over, they had some positive results, but this is the time of year when the teams that should be in the relegation zone get dragged down into it, and teams that shouldn’t be there make their way up the table. Crystal Palace are the latter, and we’ll start to see them climbing out now.

Palace should be winning here; the hosts just don’t have enough quality in their ranks. Van Nistelrooy has done a good job in being able to get the team organised but Palace should just have too much.

Eddie Howe’s doing a great job at Newcastle. I’m really willing on his team to win when I watch them because we need to see good English managers working in the Premier League. He’s been doing a stellar job there.

Newcastle will be looking about them at Nottingham Forest and thinking that they can catch them. Alexander Isak is the in-form striker in Europe, and Anthony Gordon looks like he’s one of the most talented footballers in the country at the moment; he’s great to watch, dribbling in the wide areas. Their pressing is stunning. Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães are both incredible and Jacob Murphy, too, gets overlooked a lot.

Newcastle are winning this.
