Celebrate good times, come on! Euro 2024 is into the second round of games and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson’s still up on cloud nine as the best in the continent continue to go at it.
Instead of kicking back and getting ready for the new club season he’s answered the international call and will be delivering his Euro 2024 predictions every bloomin’ day of the tournament right here on Paddy Power News.
Wednesday sees some tasty tussles and we’re back into the comforting bosom of a 2pm kick off. Croatia v Albania gets us underway before Germany v Hungary and Scotland v Switzerland later on.
It’s looking like another belting day so here’s how Lawro thinks it’s all going to go down with his crafty calls added in to a tasty treble for good measure. Take it away, Lawro.

The second round of fixtures starts with Croatia v Albania which will be interesting. Croatia got done 3-0 by the Spanish and they need to bounce back or they’ll be out. I’ll back them to win this 2-0 but you just wonder, looking at them, if this might be a competition too far for one or two of the older ones.
They have been brilliant for them but they took a big loss in that opening match. They’ll try to control this from the off so Both Teams To Score Or Over 2.5 Goals? No should have a good chance.
Next up it’s Germany v Hungary and the Germans were good against Scotland but they weren’t great, it’s more that the Scots were pretty poor. Hungary probably deserved to get something out of their game with Switzerland but they just left it to late and got hit at the end.
No-one wants to play the Germans, especially on home soil so I’ll got for a comfortable 3-0 win for Germany but we won’t know how good they are until they play a decent team. Germany to Win and Over 2.5 Goals in the game is the one here.
It’s a big one to finish Wednesday’s action in Scotland v Switzerland. The Swiss aren’t bad to be fair to them. Scotland were really poor and, despite that mad own goal, they never really looked like scoring against Germany.
I’m not sure what they can do to counteract that. Che Adams probably only touched the ball about six times. The Swiss are decent so I’m going to go for Switzerland to Win this narrowly, 1-0.
