Celebrate good times, come on! Euro 2024 is into the second round of games and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson’s still up on cloud nine as the best in the continent continue to go at it.
Instead of kicking back and getting ready for the new club season he’s answered the international call and will be delivering his Euro 2024 predictions every bloomin’ day of the tournament right here on Paddy Power News.
Thursday sees some tasty tussles with England’s group in action and a mouth-watering match-up to close out the day’s action from the Group of Death. Slovenia v Serbia gets us underway before Denmark v England and that Spain v Italy game at 8pm.
It’s looking like another belting day so here’s how Lawro thinks it’s all going to go down with his crafty calls added in to a tasty treble for good measure. Take it away, Lawro.

Serbia were good against England. They really, seriously, did their homework and suffocated Harry Kane – almost literally at times. They couldn’t keep the boy wonder Jude Bellingham under wraps but they created a few chances.
Slovenia had a good result against Denmark which has set them up but, in this Slovenia v Serbia game, I fancy Serbia to Win 1-0. They look mean, don’t they?
England struggled a bit against Serbia and there were a few players who we didn’t see the best of but they got it done in their opening game. It’s Denmark v England up next and I think we’ll see a different performance from the Three Lions. I don’t think Denmark can do to England what Serbia did, they just don’t have the physicality.
They’ll want to play a bit more because they’ve got better talent on the ball so I fancy a 2-0 win for England. It will be interesting to see what team Gareth Southgate plays and whether he thinks one or two who played at the weekend weren’t particularly good.
Thursday’s a brilliant day of action and it finishes with this really exciting Spain v Italy match. Spain were fab against Croatia and Italy did quite well to come back and win after going behind against Albania so early on.
There’s two teenagers in the Spanish team and both look like outstanding players. I’m going to go for a 1-1 Draw here because Italy will go a bit ‘backs to the wall’ and try not to get beat. It’s a result that basically puts both into the next round as well.
