Celtic v Hearts
Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park, Glasgow
Saturday, 3pm

Hearts (+2)

Hearts are dramatically undervalued as they approach their fourth league meeting of the season with Celtic. The Edinburgh side, after all, have won each of their last two encounters with the Premiership leaders and did not concede a goal in those matches.

Stevie Naismith’s team have firmly established themselves as Scottish football’s third force again and they will thrive on the opportunity to upset the Hoops in a vital match for their title aspirations.

Celtic have been struggling in these pressure games, but, Brendan Rodgers’ side have also been getting the job done – they have won six of their last seven – but they have rarely been convincing since a 2-0 loss against the Jambos at Tynecastle on March 3.

Matt O’Riley to score anytime

Matt O’Riley remains Celtic’s best-value player when it comes to finding the back of the net, even with the returning James Forrest stealing some of his spotlight in recent games.

The Denmark international has 13 league goals for the season – and opened the scoring in Celtic’s 4-1 win over Hearts earlier in the campaign – the only occasion in which the Hoops have come out on top against their Edinburgh rivals.

He is also a player in good form. The box-to-box midfielder has scored in two of his last four outings.

Celtic to win 8 or more corners

Celtic appear likely to notch up a significant corner count in this game. The Hoops managed an astonishing 18 corners, despite losing 2-0 to Hearts in their previous Celtic Park encounter this season.

Furthermore, Rodgers’ side also won seven flag kicks at Tynecastle when the sides previously met – despite going down to 10 men after just 16 minutes.

Celtic average 10.44 corners in home matches this season, and with Hearts giving up nearly six per game on their travels (the fifth-highest tally in the league), another substantial number for the hosts is likely.

Hearts to win 3 or more corners

Hearts are typically a strong side when it comes to winning corners away from home. With 5.94 per game they’re fourth in the Premiership behind Celtic, Rangers and Kilmarnock.

Naismith’s side are likely to have their work cut out to get up the park in this encounter, but they should have the capacity to boost a bet builder, by winning at least three corners in this match.

They have picked up a minimum of three corners in their three previous meetings with Celtic this season – including the match in which they were hammered 4-1 in Glasgow.

3 or more cards

This is the second time referee Kevin Clancy has overseen Celtic v Hearts this season, having taken charge of the December clash between them. On that occasion, he only handed out one booking. Expect him to be busier in this game.

Clancy is an official who averages just short of four cards per game in the Premiership this season.

Look out for the possibility of a penalty being awarded, too. The referee has given seven spot kicks in 14 top-flight matches this season.
