Everton v Nottingham Forest
Premier League match at Goodison Park, Liverpool
TV: Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League, Sunday, 1:30pm

Sunday sees two relegation-threatened clubs, Everton and Nottingham Forest meeting at Goodison Park. Just one point separates them and a win could be absolutely massive to their hopes of remaining in the Premier League next season. Everton need to bounce back while Forest need to get back to winning ways too.

Nottingham Forest and Draw

These two look pretty similar when you look at the Premier League table, with Everton ahead by just one point. They have identical goal differences with Forest scoring but also conceding more. It’s hard to split these two teams and backing against Everton seems like the play.

Forest can take confidence from their 2-2 draw with Wolves last weekend, while Everton desperately need to rebuild theirs after a 0-6 drubbing away to Chelsea. Everton have just one win in 15 Premier League games, against Burnley, and Forest, as poor as they are, have the ability to score goals, which is why they should be able to leave Goodison with at least a point.

A Goal Scored in Both Halves

We often see goals when relegation-threatened teams meet, with both sides knowing they need to get the win. Everton have either scored or conceded 33 times in the first half of games, compared with 47 for Forest.

We’ve seen even more in the second halves of games with 47 for Everton and 53 goals for Forest. Both are averaging more than a goal per game in each half and there’s no reason that shouldn’t continue here.

Beto to have 1 or more Shots on Target

Beto has just three goals to his name in the Premier League this season and has largely been used as a substitute but he does tend to make something happen when he’s on the field, even if it doesn’t result in a goal.

He’s played 27 times in the Premier League this season, of which just nine were starts but he’s still averaging 1.6 shots per game, which shows his willingness to shoot. Per 90 minutes played he’s averaging 1.29 shots on target, more than Dominic Calvert Lewin’s 1.15, and should get a shot on target here, even if starting on the bench.

Don’t forget about our new Super Sub offer where if you back a player in certain markets, if they’re substituted their picks transfer over to who they’ve been replaced by. Read more about Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer here.

Beto to Commit 1 or more Fouls

As well as his work going forward it’s also worth noting that the Portuguese forward also puts himself about on the pitch and has averaged 1.99 fouls per 90 minutes so far in the season. That number incidentally is the third-highest number for any Everton player.

The gamble is the extent to which we’ll see him on the field but in a game of this magnitude and Everton likely to need goals, we’re surely going to see him get a lot of time on the pitch.

Giovanni Reyna to Commit 1 or more Fouls

We should see more of Gio Reyna for Forest on Sunday, despite the fact that the American hasn’t been setting the City Ground alight since arriving at the club. He’s a hard-working player though, despite just one start in his seven appearances.

He’s only committed three fouls since arriving but if you look at how he’s performed minute-by-minute he’s averaging 1.68 fouls per 90 minutes and in a tough relegation scrap that has every chance of happening again.
