Lyon’s season has been a campaign of two halves, as after failing to win a league game until November, they are now on the edge of the race for Europe in Ligue 1. Pierre Sage’s stint in charge has transformed the club, with just one defeat in their last nine league games, and a French Cup final clash with Paris Saint-Germain in May.
This fixture will be a real test for Lyon, up against second place Brest, but the momentum looks to be with the home side right now and victory could edge them up to seventh if other results go in their favour.

Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette – remember him? – is tearing it up back at Lyon since rejoining in 2022. 27 Ligue goals last season was only bettered by Kylian Mbappe (29) and he already has 14 league goals in 2023/24. The 32-year-old is on a hot streak right now with five goals in his last five starts in all competitions.
