We’re coming right into the business end of the 2023/24 Premier League season now with only 8 games left to play and we’re gearing up for another full midweek fixture list. There’s action on the TV from Tuesday through to Thursday and every game counts at the top and the bottom of the table.

So, with so much action to get stuck in to, it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson who’s champing at the bit to two-foot game week 31 on the calendar.

Tuesday 7.30pm: Newcastle v Everton

I’ll go for Newcastle to win this. I think they’ll kick on after that West Ham victory and finish the season really strongly. Everton are still struggling. Newcastle 2-0 Everton.

Tuesday 7.30pm: Nottingham Forest v Fulham

I really like the look of Fulham, they’ve been playing really well of late. I fancy them here and it might be one of those smash-and-grab games, especially the way they’ll set up. Nottingham Forest 1-2 Fulham.

Tuesday 7.45pm: Bournemouth v Crystal Palace

Bournemouth are good at home and Crystal Palace are still getting used to their new manager. I fancy the home side. Bournemouth 2-1 Crystal Palace.

Tuesday 7.45pm: Burnley v Wolves

Wolves are looking really good and Burnley had a good win before the international break and rallied really well with 10 men against Chelsea to get something from the game. But I’ll go for an away win here, I just fancy Wolves. Burnley 1-2 Wolves.

Tuesday 8.15pm: West Ham v Tottenham

This is always a big game in London and I’m leaning towards a draw. With David Moyes it’s always, if you’re not winning make sure you still get something out of the game. West Ham 1-1 Tottenham.

Wednesday 7.30pm: Arsenal v Luton

Nowadays with Arsenal you just don’t see them slipping up against the teams down the table. I was impressed with them against City despite a cagey match and I expect them to win this easily. Arsenal 3-0 Luton.

Wednesday 7.30pm: Brentford v Brighton

Brighton haven’t been great for most of this season, especially compared to last year, but we all know why that is, with the extra games in Europe and all that, so I’m going to go with a Brentford win. Thomas Frank can’t be far off having his full-strength team back, I can’t see them getting relegated, I think they’ll kick on now. Brentford 2-0 Brighton.

Wednesday 8.15pm: Manchester City v Aston Villa

Aston Villa will probably come and have a go and it’s a match between two managers who know each other very well. The biggest problem will be, can they get enough of the ball at Manchester City? City just need to keep winning and I think they will. Manchester City 3-1 Aston Villa.

Thursday 7.30pm: Liverpool v Sheffield United

Sheffield United will try to make this difficult but I think it will be a siege so I’ll go for a big home win. Liverpool were impressive against Brighton and Salah broke his record for most shots in a game so he’ll want to bag a few here. The Blades will sit in, try and make it difficult, look for set pieces, but Liverpool are just scoring goals from everywhere at the moment. Liverpool 4-0 Sheffield United.

Thursday 8.15pm: Chelsea v Manchester United

This isn’t quite as big a game as it used to be but it should still be good. I just fancy Chelsea here, despite the dropped two points against Burnley. Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United.
