    Leeds v Leicester
Championship match at the Elland Road, Leeds
TV: Sky Sports Football & Main Event, 8pm

      Over 2.5 Goals

The DNA of both of these teams is to simply play for the win in every Championship game and that will again be the case here. Even attempting to settle for a draw from the off would do neither outfit any favours.

Leeds know that Ipswich and Southampton are hot on their tails in the battle for second, whereas Leicester need to keep the chasing pack at bay now their gap at the top has reduced to nine points.

It was close to a miracle that only one goal was scored in the first head-to-head encounter of the campaign when Leeds earned an impressive 1-0 away victory. This contest has all the makings of a shootout given the sheer amount of attacking talent on show.

Ricardo Pereira To Commit 1 Or More Fouls

Leicester aren’t going to deter too much away from their usual way of playing at Elland Road. Head Coach Enzo Maresca may make some subtle tactical alterations but in general, they’ll keep things similar.

Ricardo Pereira has a particular role to play in the Foxes’ setup, whereby he’ll take up central midfield positions in possession. Considering how dangerous Leeds are in the wide areas, the Portuguese will have plenty of ground to cover and won’t be given a moment of peace by in-form Crysencio Summerville.

The 30-year-old is also experienced enough to know he’ll have to make a foul or two to break up the play on occasions here. Furthermore, Pereira is the second-highest yellow-card collector in the Leicester squad this season and has averaged just over one foul per game across his last eight appearances.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target

The EFL Awards will be dished out in April and already it looks pretty certain that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall won’t leave without at least one personal accolade based on his impressive 2023/24 season. He has managed to record double-digit goals from his attacking midfielder position, making him their joint-highest league scorer.

He is also the league’s joint-highest assist maker, so expect him to again offer a goal threat on Friday night. After four games without scoring, he’ll be eager to make his mark and get back amongst the goals. No other Leicester player has achieved more attempts on target compared to KDH, so another all-action display is anticipated.

            Under 4.5 Cards

Premier League referee Craig Pawson has been assigned the task of officiating this top-of-the-table Championship encounter, the first time he has overseen a game at this level since May. Top-flight officials are always wary of dishing out the cards when dropping a league, as a flurry of yellows can give off the impression of losing control.

If this fixture was based upon the disciplinary table alone, this would be a bottom-eight match, with Leeds interestingly receiving the fewest Championship bookings. Pawson has overseen 69 Championship games across his career since the start of 2008 but on just over 78% of those occasions, there have not been Over 4.5 Cards.

              Over 4.5 Leeds Corners

There will be a big atmosphere at Elland Road for this top-two battle and the home crowd will really get behind their team here. The hosts will aim to start strongly and put Leicester on the back foot from an early stage. Without doubt, the biggest area of threat within this Leeds side is in the wide areas from in-form duo Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto.

They will be on the ball at some point in practically every Leeds attacking situation and with Leicester playing a 4-3-3 system gaps are bound to appear in the wide areas. They’re averaging over five corners per game this season, so they should pick up some set-piece opportunities during their spells of dominance.
