Burnley v Arsenal

Both Teams to Score

Arsenal have conceded just one shot on target in each of their last two Premier League games and face a Burnley side that has scored the second-fewest goals in the league, so logic would dictate that they will keep another clean sheet at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

Burnley, however, have scored seven goals in their last five games, including goals at Anfield and the Etihad, and are developing something of a habit of finding the back of the net against the top teams in the division.

Vincent Kompany’s side have scored against each of the top five this season, including two against both Tottenham and Aston Villa. They may just breach the Arsenal defence on Saturday but stand virtually no chance of keeping Arsenal out at the other end.

Burnley have conceded 50 goals in 24 games this season – the second-most in the division – and face an Arsenal side that has scored 53 goals in the same number of games – the third-highest in the division.

Fulham vs Aston Villa

Ollie Watkins to have 2 or more Shots on Target

Ollie Watkins had a day to forget as Aston Villa slumped to a third successive home defeat last weekend in a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United. The Villa striker had three shots on target in that defeat, spurning excellent chances from close range.

He will look to put things right against Fulham on Saturday afternoon, with Villa also looking to get their season back on track after a number of damaging recent defeats.

Watkins averages three shots per game in the league this season – by far the most of any Villa player – and has registered eight shots on target in his last four league appearances. There is every chance that he maintains that recent average at Craven Cottage this Saturday.

Newcastle v Bournemouth

Over 3.5 Cards

Newcastle and Bournemouth both rank in the top half in the Premier League’s disciplinary table, but both sides have still received more than two cards per game this season.

Newcastle have collected a higher volume of cards, receiving 57 yellow cards and no red cards in 24 league games, while Bournemouth have received just 45 bookings in 23 games but have also picked up two sending offs along the way.

Bournemouth additionally lead the league in terms of fouls per game, averaging well over 12 fouls per 90 minutes. Newcastle are also the second-most-fouled team in the league this season, so there is every chance that Bournemouth will give away a high number of freekicks on Saturday, increasing their chances of receiving yellow cards.

Nottingham Forest v West Ham

Over 2.5 Goals

Nottingham Forest under Nuno Espirito Santo are a completely different team. Forest have scored 13 goals in seven games since Santo’s appointment, equally almost half of their league total of 30 in just over a quarter of their games. Six of their seven games under Santo have seen three goals or more, while both teams have scored in all seven games.

West Ham, on the other hand, cannot keep goals out at the moment. Following a run of four consecutive clean sheets at the end of December and start of January, the Hammers have now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four league games, conceding 12 goals in the process.

Forest, who are winless in four games, will fancy their chances of scoring against such a shaky West Ham defence on Saturday but have not been watertight themselves and could easily concede at the other end.

The reverse fixture finished in a 3-2 win for West Ham last November and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar number of goals on Saturday afternoon.

Tottenham v Wolves

Over 9.5 Corners

Only Manchester United have seen more corners than Tottenham in the Premier League this season. Ange Postecoglou’s side win an average of 5.5 corners per game and concede an average of 6.5 corners per game for a combined average of 12 corners per game in the league.

Wolves, on the other hand, concede an average of 5.7 corners per game – among the highest in the league – but only win an average of four per game – among the lowest in the division.

Both sides face a significant number of shots – around 14 per game – and attempt a high number of shots, with Spurs’ average of six shots on target per game ranking as third-highest in the division. There is a good chance that there will be at least ten corners at Tottenham this Saturday.
