SUNDAY’S 2PM KICK-OFF MULTI-MATCH BET BUILDER

Fulham v Arsenal
Arsenal to Win
Joao Palhinha to be Shown a Card

Spurs v Bournemouth
Bournemouth and Draw
Over 3.5 Goals
Dominic Solanke to have 3 or more Shots

Right, it’s time to close the book on 2023. For today’s focus, we’re going to look at how the year has gone for North London rivals, Arsenal and Spurs.

Well, kind of the same as always. Arsenal have believed in a process to see it almost bear fruit but ultimately didn’t win the league, and are now worse off in the table this year than they were last year, despite a prescribed acceptance of improvement.

And Spurs? Well, given their insecurities over being a small club in the context, they’ve once again fallen for a cult of personality like they did with Mauricio Pochettino.

‘Ange’ occasionally says things down the pub in his pressers and all is right with the world. Where has that gotten them? To wild inconsistency and six points off the top with no clear method apart from throwing caution to the wind.

    Fulham v Arsenal

    TV: Sky Sports Main Event

    Arsenal to Win

The one thing that really aids Arsenal is beating up on teams who are going through a rough time of it. That’s the one thing I can honestly say about their improvements, is that struggling sides no longer feel like playing them is a handy way out. They don’t cause too many of their own problems.

For that shift in substance alone, I can feel confident taking them to win this game of football because Fulham have dropped three in a row without netting at all.

Joao Palhinha to be Shown a Card

Palhinha’s card tally in and of itself isn’t startling at eight bookings. He shares that gong with Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson. But it’s the fact he’s done it through just twenty-seven fouls.

You need a player like that at Fulham, a real cynic. It’s helped them to consecutive 5-0 wins but also gotten them into the hole they’re in now.

Still, at least they feel like a club who aren’t just there for Sky to grab gorgeous B-roll of their ground and pretend that football still retains its heritage. He’s going to kick someone here.

          Spurs v Bournemouth

          Bournemouth and Draw

You don’t know which Spurs is turning up week to week, and for that reason I naturally always see if I can take them on to begin with.

I can, in this instance, rather easily because Bournemouth have won four on the bounce, scoring eleven times.

There’s a good chance they’ll be a one-and-done job with their manager popping off to the opposition in the summer when Ange gets a Fosters’ sponsorship and a part-time role doing standup in Edmonton, but for now, let’s ride the wave of positivity.

            Over 3.5 Goals

What do you get when two sides show utter contempt for conservatism and play this out on a weekly basis? Well, you get PMQs in the House of Commons.

But you also get stunning games of football that are end-to-end in a hopeless dash to get three points. It’s like that indoor arena in FIFA 98. You just wanted the ball last. There will be goals here.

Dominic Solanke to have 3 or more Shots

What do Mo Salah, Erling Haaland, Ollie Watkins, Son Heung-Min and every other player in the Premier League apart from Dominic Solanke have in common?

They’ve all taken fewer shots in the Premier League than Dominic Solanke this season.

I know, I know. But Bournemouth create such clear-cut chances through runs off the ball that they massively benefit in central areas. We’re backing the striker in red-hot form to take at least three shots here.
