Aston Villa vs Burnley
Over 2.5 Goals
Aston Villa would be top of the Premier League at the midway stage if they had beaten Sheffield United at home and held onto a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
Unai Emery’s side have been sensational this season, but it is that kind of inconsistency that looks likely to prevent them from becoming true title challengers. They will look to get back to winning ways against Burnley at Villa Park.
Villa boasted a flawless home record in the league this term before that draw with the Blades and have scored a hugely impressive 26 goals in nine league outings on home soil.
Burnley, meanwhile, have conceded 38 goals in 19 games so far this season – an average of two goals per game and the second-worst defensive record in the league.
There is every chance that Villa score several times, while there is also a chance that Burnley breach the Villa defence at the other end, considering the recent defensive woes at Old Trafford. Either way, there should be goals.
Crystal Palace vs Brentford
Crystal Palace to have 6 or more Shots on Target
Both Crystal Palace and Brentford are sleepwalking towards a relegation battle. Brentford have lost each of their last four league games, most recently suffering a 4-1 reversal at home to Wolves. Thomas Frank’s side will welcome Ivan Toney back to the fold next month but currently find themselves just four points above 18th-placed Luton.
Palace, on the other hand, have not won any of their last eight games in a run stretching back to November 4 and going into the weekend sit just three points above the relegation zone. The Eagles, however, have shown more promise than Brentford, drawing at Manchester City and dominating much of the game against Liverpool before Christmas.
They are likely to come out fighting against the struggling Bees and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they peppered the Brentford goal with shots, who have faced 21 shots on target in their last four games, conceding nine in the process.
Palace only average four shots on target per game in the league this season but are likely to considerably better that average in such a winnable fixture.

Manchester City vs Sheffield United
Over 2.5 Sheffield United Cards
The gulf between Manchester City and Sheffield United in the Premier League table is almost as big as the gulf between them in the league’s disciplinary table.
City boast one of the best disciplinary records in the league, receiving 33 bookings and two red cards in 18 games, while United boast the second-worst record in the league, collecting 60 bookings and two dismissals in 90 games.
Chris Wilder’s side are averaging over three cards per game this season and are likely to match that average against an opponent that will dominate the ball and territory.
City draw an average of 11.4 fouls per game, while Sheffield United commit an average of 12.4 fouls per game, meaning there is a very good chance that Wilder’s side commit at least a dozen fouls. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them pick up at least three cards at the Etihad.
Wolves vs Everton
Over 4.5 Cards
Everton’s run of four wins in a row was brought to a halt by two unfortunate defeats against Tottenham and Manchester City and Sean Dyche will be keen to put an end to that winless run as soon as possible.
The Toffees have been exceptional since they were hit with a 10-point deduction in November, but it also appears to have increased their aggression. Dyche’s side have received 17 bookings in seven games since the deduction, slightly higher than their record of 28 cards in 12 games before the deduction.
They have received three bookings or more in four of their last seven games and could easily make that five out of eight when they take on an aggressive Wolves side.
Wolves boast one of the worst disciplinary records in the league, collecting 50 bookings and three dismissals in 19 games this season. There is a high chance that there will be at least five cards issued.
Both Teams to Score
Everton won four games in a row without conceding a goal but have now conceded five in two games and face a Wolves side that has scored six goals in their last two games.
Wolves have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 league games and have also failed to score on just one occasion in that timeframe. They are good value to score against the Toffees at Molineux but are equally likely to concede at the other end.
The travelling side have found the back of the net in each of their last six games, scoring against the likes of Tottenham, City, and Newcastle. They should score against a porous Wolves defence.
