Fulham v Burnley

Fulham, bizarrely, are attempting to win 5-0 for the third home game running when Burnley come to town on Saturday afternoon.
The Cottagers enjoyed back-to-back big wins over Nottingham Forest and West Ham earlier in December and had scored a whopping 16 goals in four games before a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle last weekend. That defeat, however, comes with the caveat of going down to 10 men midway through the first half.
Marco Silva’s side have scored 13 goals in their last three games at Craven Cottage and will have received a confidence boost after booking their place in the League Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night.
Burnley, on the other hand, have conceded 36 goals in 17 league games to date and boast the second-worst defensive record in the league. Vincent Kompany’s side also score an average of a goal a game at the other end, pointing towards an entertaining afternoon.
Luton v Newcastle
Newcastle to Receive the Most Cards
It is somewhat surprising that Newcastle are such long odds to receive the most cards on Saturday, considering Luton currently boast the third-best disciplinary record in the Premier League. Rob Edwards’ side have picked up 32 yellow cards and no red cards in 17 league games, an average of less than two cards per game.
Newcastle, on the other hand, sit ninth in the league’s disciplinary table after collecting 41 bookings and no dismissals in their opening 17 games of the season.
Toon’s average is above two cards per game and Eddie Howe’s side are building a reputation for robust and physical challenges. The Hatters arguably have that reputation already due to their style of play, but it is clearly not warranted looking at their squeaky-clean disciplinary record.

Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth
Bournemouth to have 5 or more Shots on Target
Nuno Espirito Santo’s first game as Nottingham Forest manager is an incredibly difficult one. Bournemouth have been in sensational form in recent weeks, collecting 13 points from their last five games and scoring 12 goals in the process.
Andoni Iraola appears to have finally implemented his vision at Bournemouth and they no longer resemble the relegation fodder that played in the opening 10 games of the season. The Cherries have had 36 shots on target in their last five games and will cause plenty of problems against Forest on Saturday.
Nuno inherits a side that has conceded 12 goals in its last five games in addition to facing 24 shots on target. There is a very good chance that Bournemouth will register at least five shots on target.
Tottenham v Everton
Over 4.5 Cards
While Luton might boast one of the best disciplinary records in the league, no club boasts a worse record than Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham. Spurs have received an astonishing 44 yellow cards and four red cards in 17 games so far this season, leaving them rock bottom of the league’s disciplinary table.
Postecoglou’s side average just under three cards per game and have lost their heads at several key moments throughout the season. Even their comfortable-looking win over Forest last week was cast into doubt when Yves Bissouma needlessly picked up his second red card of the season.
The Toffees, meanwhile, boast the fourth-best disciplinary record in the league, picking up 30 yellow cards and one red card. However, they are still averaging close to two cards per game and there is a good chance that five cards or more will be brandished.
Over 5.5 Tottenham Corners
Everton’s form has been sensational since the club was issued with a ten-point deduction. Sean Dyche’s side have won four games on the spin without conceding a goal to move well clear of the relegation zone. However, it has required quite a bit of resilience.
Everton have recorded 38% possession or less in each of those four games and have conceded a total of 22 corners – an average of over five per game.
They are likely to enjoy even less possession against Tottenham, who boast the third-highest possession averages in the league. There is an excellent chance that Spurs will put Everton under significant pressure and win at least six corners in the process.
