Over 6.5 Manchester United Corners

Manchester United can move even closer to the Champions League places with a win against a rejuvenated Bournemouth side at Old Trafford.

Andoni Iraola’s side have taken an impressive 13 points from their last six games to move well clear of the relegation zone and move within just three points of the top ten. The Cherries will come to Old Trafford full of confidence, while United will fancy themselves after an excellent performance against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Remarkably, Erik Ten Hag’s side are just three points behind Manchester City despite losing six of their opening 15 league games. United have won the second-most corners in the league this season, winning 104 corners in their opening 15 games at a rate of almost seven per game.

The majority of those corners have come at Old Trafford, with United winning 74 corners in eight home league games so far – a rate of over nine per game. They won 12 in the win over Chelsea and have won at least seven in each of their eight home games this season.

There is every chance that they will do so again.

Scott McTominay to have 2 or more Shots

Scott McTominay’s heroics saw United overcome Chelsea on Wednesday and the Scottish midfielder is now United’s top scorer in both the league and in Europe, directly contributing to seven points in the league.

There are certain parts of his game that leave a lot to be desired, but his goalscoring attributes simply cannot be ignored. He is good value to have at least two shots when Bournemouth come to town on Saturday, especially considering he had seven in the win over the Blues.

McTominay averages 1.5 shots per game in the league this season and is always reliable to try his luck or win a head in the box. There is a good chance that he will attempt two here, especially after his recent two-goal return.

      Wolves v Nottingham Forest

      Over 4.5 Cards

Nottingham Forest’s slump continued with a wretched performance at Fulham on Wednesday and Steve Cooper will be looking for a reaction after that 5-0 reverse. A reaction could translate into a high number of cards at Molineux as their manager fights to keep his job.

Forest boast the sixth-worst disciplinary record in the league, picking up 36 yellow cards and two dismissals in their opening 15 league games.

Wolves, meanwhile, boast the second-worst disciplinary record in the league, picking up 45 bookings and three red cards in the same number of games. Forest average well over two cards per game in the league, while Wolves average more than three cards per game.

Between them, they should accumulate at least five cards.

      Brighton v Burnley

Brighton to have 7 or more Shots on Target

Brighton remain the most exciting team in the Premier League this season and appear to have bounced back following a difficult run of six league games without a win.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet in any league game this season, but they have also scored in every single game so far. They have recorded the third-most shots on target in the league, averaging 6.2 shots on target per game in their opening 15 games of the season.

Burnley, meanwhile, boast the second-worst defensive record in the league, conceding 33 goals in their opening 15 games.

They have faced an average of almost 14 shots per game and are likely to face a high volume of shots against the Seagulls.

      Sheffield United vs Brentford

      Over 2.5 Goals

Sheffield United may have lost 2-0 to Liverpool, but the Blades looked much improved in their first game under Chris Wilder.

Having said that, the Blades still have a huge number of defensive issues to contend with, namely that they have conceded a whopping 41 goals in their opening 15 games at a rate of almost three per game.

Their tally of 11 goals scored is also the lowest in the league, but they will have a glimmer of hope against a Brentford side that has failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last five games.

Ten of the Bees’ 15 games this season have seen three goals or more, while 11 of Sheffield United’s games have seen at least three goals, so goals should be on the menu here.
