Derry City v St Pat’s – Under 2.5 Goals
In the five games played at the Brandywell this season, there have been just six goals scored. Only Tolka Park has seen fewer goals per game in the league thus far. That should give you some insight into just how goalshy the supposed title challengers have been at home. Their players are returning in the shape of Colm Whelan and Michael Duffy but that integration takes time and even more patience.
Pat’s will be delighted with a draw here and given they’ve moved away from their openness to great success, this will be incredibly cagey. We’ve backing less than three goals here.
Dundalk v Drogheda – Drogheda and the Draw
Dundalk to win and Dundalk not to win are the exact same price.
Yes, they’re much better at home and Drogheda drop considerably when on their travels but you have to factor this being a derby into the equation and understand that Kevin Doherty’s men had their best performance of the season in the earlier reverse fixture.
They went on to lose that but rather unjustly. Because of that exact occurrence, you’re getting a healthier price. Newsflash – there’s only goal difference between these two.
Shelbourne v Cork City – Shels to Win
One of these has played considerably better than results suggest and the other lost to UCD and are en route to sack their manager. This will be the final nail in the coffin for Colin Healy I feel, and it comes at the venue of some of Cork City’s finest moments.
It’s poetic, but this is a total moral mismatch in that the Reds are riding a wave of rebirth while City are clinging for change. This result is one that might actually be manifested into reality because both teams would prefer it for their long-term sustainability.

UCD v Bohemians – Bohemians to Win
Bohs win games they should win, especially away from home. They’ve won five of their six away games, with their only loss coming to Shelbourne when they were reduced to ten men.
They’re playing a team who have shown gradual improvement but are nowhere near the level required to compete with the league leaders. The price suggests as much, and an away win looks bombproof.
Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers – Shamrock Rovers to Win
This price isn’t overly appealing but it is taking a juggernaut who stylistically looks set to capitalise. The only problems Rovers have is when teams double up their wing backs and they rely on moments of brilliance which aren’t sustainable.
Sligo Rover’s Fabrice Hartmann and Will Fitzgerald are incredibly ambitious on the ball and they’ll likely seek to break when given the chance. Shamrock Rover’s Neil Farrugia will feast on this lack of respect and make them pay down that right side and the home side should make it five wins from six league here.
