Celtic v Motherwell
Saturday, April 22: 3pm
Obviously it’s just a matter of time before Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic are crowned Scottish League Champions for the 53rd time and they’re going to want to go into the league split with one more win under their belt. This would mean they should win it in their first post-split game. Surely those responsible for scheduling the post-split games would give us an Old Firm decider? You’d hope so.
Regardless, they have to beat a Motherwell side who are in decent shape with their Dutch striker Kevin van Veen banging in the goals of late. We have a five-legged Bet Builder here teeming with value for Saturday afternoon.
Both Teams to Score
Of course Celtic are going to score, that’s pretty much a given. The Bhoys have actually scored a minimum of two goals in all 21 of their most recent fixtures and on home soil have scored at least two goals in all 16 of their home Premiership games.
They’ve conceded in three in-a-row at home too and in five of their last six in the league. Motherwell have 11 goals over their last five league matches and seven over their last five on their Premiership excursions. With the Steelmen among the goals, getting Both Teams to Score priced above Evens feels like a…sorry, we couldn’t resist, it feels like a steal.
Over 1.5 Motherwell Cards
Motherwell average pretty much bang-on 2.5 cards per away league clash and we’ve seen Celtic’s opponents pick up at least two bookings in four of their last five at Celtic Park. The visitors have also chalked up at least two bookings in four of their last visits to east Glasgow and the way Celtic play we really would not be surprised to see the away side picking up at least two cards here.

Sean Goss to be Shown a Card
The Steelman have been playing a 3-4-3 for the majority of their recent games but against Celtic of late have utilised a 4-2-3-1, or a 4-5-1 when out of possession and are likely to do the same here. We’d have to look then at Sean Goss in the centre of the Motherwell midfield, he’ll likely be pitched up against the likes of Sead Haksabanovic, Tomoki Iwata and Matthew O’Reilly with the defenders behind him marking Kyogo Furuhashi.
We can’t see him going the 90 without dragging at least one of them down in a tactical foul and we’re getting good odds on him getting booked here.
Kyogo Furuhashi & Kevin van Veen to Score Anytime
We all know just how lethal both of these are in front of goals. Celtic’s Furuhashi has 23 league goals over 30 appearances and has bagged four over his last five at home in the league. The visitor’s Dutchman, Kevin van Veen, has 19 over 32 league appearances and has five over his last five on the road. Both should be getting on the scoresheet here.
