Sheffield United v Blackburn

Iliman Ndiaya to Score or Assist
Senegalese midfielder/forward Iliman Ndiaya has been one of the many highlights of Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United this campaign. Ndiaya has scored a total of 12 goals across league and cup competition this season and has created seven more. He’d started the season playing behind Ryan Brewster and Ollie McBurnie but his form has been so good that he’s been moved up the field to partner McBurnie in attack and for a player in such good form, we’re getting great odds for him to to either score or create here.
Over 2.5 Goals
A fortnight ago, Blackburn took the honours when they beat the Blades 1-0 at Ewood Park in the Championship so we fully expect the hosts to be out for revenge here. We’ve seen too that United’s second string side is quite decent, they dispatched Spurs here in the previous round 1-0, so should Heckingbottom again rotate his side they should still have at least a goal or two in them.
The hosts have won three of their last five at home while Rovers have won four of their last five in all competitions, winning two, drawing two and losing one on their recent travels, scoring nine while conceding seven. With both teams in good form and scoring plenty of late, we should see at least three goals here.
The market has Brighton to win this one at a very short price. The Seagulls are in mighty form, losing just one of their last 12 fixtures in all competitions. Of their last five they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring eight and conceding just three while keeping three clean sheets. At the AmEx, they’ve won four and lost one, scoring eight while conceding just two, also keeping three clean sheets.
Grimsby are in good form too it must be said, winning three, drawing one and losing one over their last five, winning three and losing two of their last five on their travels. Sure they beat Southampton recently but who doesn’t? That impressive run of clean sheets at home just means we cannot see the visitors landing a punch here.
Luke Waterfall to be Shown a Card
Luke Waterfall is going to be in for a long afternoon here. He’s going to be up against either Even Ferguson or Danny Welback, more than likely it’s going to be Ferguson since he only played 11 minutes against Crystal Palace midweek. He’s also going to have Alexis MacAllister to deal with as he gets forward. Waterfall has seven yellow cards this season and we can see him struggling with the pace of Ferguson and MacAllister here, we reckon he’s going to have his name pencilled down over the 90 minutes.
