Thursday 8pm: Manchester United v Barcelona
TV: BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Ultimate
Manchester United to Win
Manchester United can count themselves unlucky that they did not win last week’s first leg in Barcelona. United were the better team for large parts of last Thursday’s 2-2 draw in Spain and will be confident of getting the job done at Old Trafford.
United are unbeaten in their last 17 games on home soil in a run stretching back to early September, while they have won 14 of their last 15 games in all competitions. Erik Ten Hag has completely transformed the club since taking over last summer and they have now been rightfully installed as favourites to dump Barca out of Europa.
Barcelona boast a comfortable eight-point lead at the top of La Liga and have conceded just seven goals in 22 league games. However, they have struggled against all of the elite sides they have faced this season, taking just one point from four games against Inter Milan and Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages and losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the league.
United exposed Barca’s vulnerabilities at the Camp Nou last week and can do so again at Old Trafford with the help of the returning Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer, who missed the first leg through suspension.
Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime
It is impossible to back against Marcus Rashford to score at the moment. The English forward has been in irresistible form since the World Cup, scoring 16 goals in 17 games in all competitions.
He has only failed to score in three appearances in that spell, while he has scored in 13 of his last 15 appearances at Old Trafford. Rashford tore Barcelona apart in last week’s first leg and is by far the most likely United player to score in the return leg. He is good value to continue his excellent scoring streak against the Catalans here.

Man United to Receive the Most Cards
United edged the yellow card count in Barcelona last week, picking up three bookings to Barca’s two in a relatively feisty encounter. That is hardly surprising, given how poor United’s discipline has been this season.
United boast the fourth-worst disciplinary record in the Premier League, picking up 53 yellow cards and one sending off in 24 games. Only Fulham, Wolves, and Crystal Palace boast a worse record than United, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pick up a number of bookings on Thursday, especially since it is likely to be as feisty as last week.
Barcelona’s disciplinary record is actually worse than United’s – the Spanish side have picked up 49 yellow cards and five red cards in 22 league games – but referees tend to be stricter on the continent and it wouldn’t be surprising to see United fall victim to that.
Raphinha to Have 1 or More Shots on Target
Raphinha was for Barcelona what Marcus Rashford was for Manchester United during last week’s first leg. The Brazilian winger tormented United throughout at the Nou Camp, setting up Barca’s first goal and scoring their second in fortuitous circumstances. He attempted a whopping six shots during last week’s first leg and averages two shots per game in the league.
United conceded 18 shots last week and faced 19 in what ultimately proved to be a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester on Sunday. Raphinha will almost certainly get chances to try his luck again in the return leg. He is decent value to hit the target at Old Trafford.
