There seems to be something not quite clicking with Manchester City compared to last season and I’m still as surprised as anyone every time they drop points.
They have fallen slightly below the super-human standards that they’ve set in previous seasons. It’s difficult to put your finger on why that’s happened because it feels like they’ve become stronger with the signing of Erling Haaland.
The question that gets thrown at them is whether Haaland’s changed the way they play. He’s scored bundles of goals, but are they as good as a team?
I don’t see that, I think they are, and I think they’ll be very much in the conversation towards the end of the year.

I know Antonio Conte’s not going to be on the touchline for this one and I wish him well in his recovery after surgery. They might miss his passion and that will be a blow but, as a player, once you got over the white line you don’t really notice what’s going on on the sideline that much.
I’ve watched Spurs a lot this season and they’ve been disappointing in certain areas. I think the signing of Pedro Porro was important, I think the fans would have revolted if they hadn’t made that transfer! It was one the fans wanted.
I don’t know if they’ve got enough for the win but I think Spurs will cause City problems, I really do.
I think there’ll be a few goals in this one. It’s one of those where Spurs have the firepower to score goals and City can net from anywhere and, especially with Haaland firing, you’d expect City to get the result but I do think Spurs will trouble them and I do see goals.
Riyad Mahrez is a class act, I’ve always been a fan of his. He’s so fluid and he’s added a real goal threat to his game and he’s a constant threat cutting in off the flanks.
This could be quite fiery, similar to the first time these two met in the league. Quite often Spurs have started badly and grown into games but I think they’ll start well here and it will be a good contest.
Let’s be honest, Heung-min Son’s been quite disappointing this season. He’s not been himself, but he played a big part in the win against Fulham and he looked bright in the FA Cup. Hopefully he can find his form towards the back end of the season because he’s such an important player for Spurs.
