7.45pm: Sassuolo v Atalanta – Over 3.5 Goals
TV: BT Sport 1, OneFootball
We kick off our Saturday night treble with a trip to Sassuolo where flying Atalanta, who are 4th in Serie A, are in town. The Neroverdi are way down in 16th and have real relegation worries as we head off into the second half of the season.
However, they pulled off a massive shock in San Siro last weekend, spanking reigning champions AC Milan 5-2 to end a run of 10 games without a win in which they picked up just two points. Atalanta are in good form and had won four of their last five before losing to Inter in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
Generally speaking there’s goals when Atalanta step onto the pitch. While there’s just been three across their last two games, there were 45 in the proceeding eight matches, an eye-watering average of 5.6 per game.
The numbers are obviously lower for Sassuolo but they’ve still been ticking along at 3.33 goals a game in their last six matches. Throw that all into the pot and Over 3.5 Goals looks very tempting indeed.
8pm: Real Betis v Celta Vigo – BTTS? No & Under 2.5 Goals
TV: LaLigaTV
Real Betis in 6th welcome Celta Vigo to the Benito Villamarín with the visitors 10 places and 11 points behind their hosts in La Liga. This is trickier to call than you might think from simply looking at the table.
Both teams’ form is absolutely all over the shop. Betis have won three, lost three and drawn two of their last six in the league while Celta have won two, drawn three and lost three over the same period. All three of Betis’ wins have come on the road over that period but they have only played on home soil three times and lost here to Barcelona last time out.
This could be a bit of a snooze-fest and neither are involved in high-scoring games with Over 2.5 goals landing in just three of these two’s combined 14 most recent games and all of those came in Betis games.
Both Teams to Score? No has landed in four of the away side’s last six and it’s the same for the hosts as well. Everything’s pointing towards a dull, low-scoring game so Both Teams to Score? No & Under 2.5 Goals is the bet that’s standing out.
8pm: Rennes v Lille – Rennes to Win
TV: BT Sport 3
We’ll finish in north-west France with Lille’s visit to Rennes. The home team are going great guns and are 5th in Ligue 1 while Lille are one place and five points below their hosts.
This is a pretty meaty clash in the hunt for European football and Rennes are on a mad run of form that’s seem them win their home games and consecutively lose their away games with four wins and three losses from their last seven. For Lille, they’ve won three drawn three and lost one over the same timeframe with both taking 12 points over that period.
I’m a sucker for form and trends and the fact that Rennes have now won their last 10 home games is impossible to ignore. No nuance or guile here, we’re sticking with the home side’s amazing performances at fortress Roazhon and we’re going with the Rennes Win.
