Wolves and the Draw
The new manager bounce is my least-favourite phrase in football. I originally wrote manger instead of manager, there. Still in the Christmas spirit, clearly. But it essentially tells you that players had checked-out and they’re lazy and can turn it on due to a tiny bit of discipline. Embarrassing.
But they have looked functional under The Man Who Left Spain on the Eve of the World Cup, to give him his proper title.
That point against Villa was well-earned, while an away win, albeit against Everton, looked like little more than a pipe dream back in November.
Given the respective directions these dressing rooms are going in, I like the value here.
Under 2.5 Goals
This was the hardest leg because you’ll always be tempted to back Liverpool to score multiple goals given the sheer amount of talent they possess. nBut it’s worth remembering something – quality doesn’t shine in crisis.
Right now, no Liverpool player is playing to their peak and that’s because everything that’s propelled them to this point is no longer working.
Even if Klopp switches the side, you need to remember that players like Harvey Elliott have been pushed into the starting XI and are feeling the brunt of the pressure for no reason, while the seasoned pros are checked-out because they’re being dropped.
Inconsistent selection and a constant failing on the pitch, combined with a long spell on the sidelines for Virgil van Dijk should result in combustion.

Wolves to Have Three or More Shots on Target
If the press doesn’t work, Wolves end up moving the ball further into Liverpool territory. And that’s the moment where the buck will end with most fans. Wolves knocking it about in the final third.
And the lack of secondary effort usually means the away side should cosily nip in and create chances.
Cody Gakpo to Have Three or More Shots on Target
He’s one of the best shooters on the planet. Funny how that’s a thing now. It was always finishers, but actually the technique he has means he can generate curl and power from pretty much everywhere.
He’s a dream for markets like this because he backs himself to hit the target from anywhere, especially as he’s essentially being brought in to fan the flames.
