Burnley to Win
As the World Cup starts to build to a crescendo The Championship fully emerges from the international break in full force after we dipped our toe with a single game last weekend. We’ve a raft of games on Saturday but here, I’ll guide you though Sunday’s games that’ll be on the telly starting at 1pm with QPR v Burnley.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
QPR had been ticking along nicely but a poor run of form in November and the departure of Mick Beale to Rangers has thrown their Championship promotion charge off course. They’re down to 6th and haven’t won in their last five matches.
Burnley have no such problems. They’re in such fine shape that Vincent Kompany took the time to distance his club for a move for Cristiano Ronaldo while covering the World Cup. His side are top and have won eight of their last 10. That will surely become nine in 11 on Sunday so it has to be Burnley to Win.

Over 2.5 Goals
It could be quite a handsome win, too. They’ve scored two or more in seven of their last nine matches, averaging 2.56 goals per game by themselves. Overall, with goals conceded thrown in as well, their matches have seen 35 goals at an average of 3.89 goals per game.
QPR have been a bit more reserved of late but that’s because the goals have dried up for them. They’ve scored just one goal in their last five but have conceded seven along the way. Burnley might get three themselves the way they’ve been playing so it’s got to be Over 2.5 Goals.
Jay Rodriguez to Score Anytime
Championship strikers have been sharing the goals about this season. We’ve got eight players tied at the top of the rankings on nine goals and Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez is one of those.
QPR’s best effort is six in the form of Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes who share the Rangers’ crown. There is the caveat that we don’t know how these teams are going to rock up after this break but after a small barren spell it could be worth backing Burnley’s top scorer to get back on form and for Rodriguez to Score Anytime.
3pm: Watford v Hull

Watford to Win
The second Championship clash on Sunday sees Watford in 4th welcome 20th-placed Hull to Vicarage Road. The Hornets are in decent shape with four wins in their last six while The Tigers have won just one of their last five.
Watford are five points off the automatic spots heading into the weekend and this is exactly the kind of game they have to win if they’re to close the gap to Sheffield United. Given the recent form lines and the quality the hosts have at their disposal, I think we can quite happily put a tick next to Watford to Win.
Under 2.5 Goals
One of the themes of Watford’s most recent games before the break was a lack of goals. In their last five matches they’ve seen Over 2.5 Goals on one occasion, the 2-1 win away at Cardiff.
The only reason they extended themselves in that clash was because they let the Bluebirds take the lead inside 10 minutes. Hull have been surprisingly handy going forward but I think we can back The Hornets to have this all their own way and for Under 2.5 Goals in this one.
